RPG Maker 4. what should it have?

i know everyone's way excited about RPGM3, heck i'm gonna get it myself. but what would you guys like to see in the next installment, short of a genre change since there's another topic for that one. i'd like to see some character models for the more awesome enemy models, especially the slime. my series is kinda totally dependant on the slime.
the legends have returned...whenever i can finish these, lol.

RPGM4 should be an RPGM3 with more graphic possibilities on PS3.

It should have all the options of both RPGM2 and RPGM3. Want to make a detailed cinematic? Script it. Want to make a simple one? Use the cinematics editor. It should have everyone covered.

with all the articles i've read about developers griping about how hard is is to develop for the PS3 and xbox360, i think they might fail. either that or there will be a major temporary lull in titles while they figure this stuff out.

i'd also be wary of wanting another big jump in the graphics, even if it would be going from 128 to 256 bits. i have no doubt pushing the envelope with three like that has something to do with the albeit cool, but lacking model selections.

I'd like RPGM4 to make character and monster models the same thing. This way, you could assign a dragon as a party member if you wished.

I'd also like for it to have at least as many character/building/monster/object/town models as RPGM3 did for its entire game for each possible setting of the following:

          Medieval Europe
          Medieval Japan
          Modern
          Industrial Age
          Prehistoric
          Ancient(Greece, Babylon, ect.)
          Post-apocalyptic(after modern era)
          Futuristic/Space Age

Imagine if the next RPGM was built with the simplicity and ease of use of RPGM3 in mind, but with like 100 male, female, and 'monster' character models, 100s of building models, about 6 town layout types for each, vehicles for each setting(sail boats, horses, airships, cars, motorcycles, trains, space ships, ect.), no 100 character limit, and would allow one to use every last piece of data on their memory card if they wished, and would allow them to link memory cards or use one for system and one for scenario data like in RPGM1.

Further, slap on RPGM2's ability to use 2D images and let the player using this theoretical RPGM4 place them anywhere they wished. Say one wanted to spraypaint graffitti on a building or wanted to make custom shop signs.

Further, if the player felt inclined, why not allow the creation of custom characters by selecting pre-made parts and slapping on the aforementioned 2D images if wanted? Sort of make a system like on one of those N64 WWF games where you choose a skin color, size, face, hair, then work your way to the clothing, all from pre-made stuff. Given the little memory it took on those wrestling games, character creation in this manner would allow for unlimited possibilities but wouldn't take up much memory, even if the models are 3D.

Imagine if an RPGM had the ease of use and cut and paste aspects of RPGM3, but had a ****load of options that didn't detract from this ease of use and allowed one to become creative if willing to take the time.

as far as I know, the next Console RPG Maker will be either:

            1. An enhanced version of RPG Maker 2, which Mark Johnson mentioned being something he wanted to do in a post he made back in april (just check the member list and search for all "duhrin"'s posts)

            2. Based on the new RPG Maker 3 engine.

Either sounds just fine, as so much content can be added to them to improve upon them.

Well, I just wish the next console RPG Makers doesn't have reasources that are limited to a certain theme... Not that I don't like Fantasy, but would cool to work with fantasy or sci-fi.

So Valk, does it basically depend on how well RPGM3 sells compared to 2? (at least as far as translating it to English and bringing it here)

I personally want an improved version of RPG Maker 2. A few more options liked the ability to display variables in text boxes, edit character parts, detect more advanced button input and re-color windows during gameplay would've made it perfect IMO.

Ideal RPGMaker ideas (for me anyway):

                      - Character and Music creator. As I've stated in a different post, they could make PC programs for this and then you upload them into the game and save it. Like the Picture Paradise feature on RPGM2. In the game itself, of course, have it to where you can color each part as in RPGM2.

                      - At least one customizable button, the rest the player can configure.

                      - 2 player

                      - Edit movements of characters, like Fighter Maker perhaps?

                      - Facial expressions, even lips moving during cutscenes

                      - Event conditions include actions. For instance, make a script and make the conditions "player equips Blue Sword". If the player equips that sword, then the script is automatically executed.

                      - Make your own in-game menu.

Yeah, I love RPGM2 with a passion, Id like them to approve apon that engine.

My RPGM2 game looks good so far in my eyes, but is very simply made. I'm just not good with the VFX.
