    Wii U

    Rumors/leaks about the successor to Wii have started pouring in. Supposedly to be revealed at E3. Might as well start talking about it now. The claims so far:

    Late 2012 launch
    More powerful than PS3/360, 1080p
    Backward compatible with Wii and GameCube software
    Controller has 6 inch touchscreen and front facing camera
    Can stream games from the console to the controller's screen
    Controller can be used as a sensor bar

    Since the Wii turned out to be the only console this gen I didn't regret buying I'm interested to see what Nintendo does next.

    Really? It's by far the least used console...wait maybe the ps3 is least used...but I think that's just because my roommate has it in his room. Ass.

        Good, hope they get less dependent on motion controls. Getting way damn sick of that. But my first love was Nintendo (SNES bundled with Zelda), so I'll always be a sucker for them.

          According to the IGN article about the project, the controller is supposed to be similar to the Gamecube controller, and Nintendo's goal with the console is to get hardcore support again.
          1) Statement 2 is true
          2) Statement 1 is false

            Damn it. This happens every time. I finally manage to get the current generation's console, and then they immediately announce the next generation's.

            Then again, it's only Nintendo that seems to have something planned on that front? I recall Sony and Microsoft saying that their consoles were such an expense to develop that they're holding off on plans for new ones.

            I was tempted to buy a Wii but I think it would just gather dust, to be honest. Hope Nintendo's going in a different direction this time around.

              Out of my consoles, I play Wii the most these past few monthes. But overall on all my consoles put together, that's still only maybe 5 hours.

              That being said, if there are any games that come out that I want. I will buy it. I am kind-of over the whole "does a billion" things phase, as my PC does that all anyhow.

                            I tried it out and played about three hours of the game before I decided "yup, I've seen enough". Grabbing and throwing things got boring pretty fast. It could get better though. Hell if I know though. I got enough games I don't even play as it. :I

                              Crystal Bearers is FFXIII with waggle controls and even less customization.

                              Basically.

                              The cutscenes play out like an anime, and the story is relatively interesting. Other than that I'd watch a friend play, but not play it myself.
