best game with character development?

i just finished playing mimana iyar chronicles and im reminded at what good character development can do for a game. this game has much that is bla. the plot is generic, the battle design is unispired, and much of the process is a chore but the character development made me interested to play the game and kept me playing it.

i enjoyed how the main character has such a rich backstory and had a behavior that was very different then any other main character i have ever seen. the other characters where not as great but they still could hold a flame of their own. the voice acting in this game was the best ive seen in a very long time.

a rich backstory, real passionate emotions, and true actions are the hall marks of good character development. tell me some of the best character development you have seen.

Yep. Or pretty much anything else Bioware, albeit to a slightly lesser extent. Their characters always make those of other games see horribly static and one-dimensional by comparison.

I'd say Xenogears, because at any given time you can find out that one character is another character or in fact several other characters or has just become one of the characters that just died.

Not only is the character development good, but the characters are about as unique as they can get, and from a JRPG, that's mega rare these days.

Mimana did have some great character development, and good voice acting to boot. I was never able to beat the game, the encounter rate and long load screens killed it for me.
