Just downloaded the free trial. Don't quite understand it at all.

Caught my interest because you can transfer everything to XNA and release your project onto Live.

Anyone else play around with this, what do you think of it?

Look around the Pavilion for the other 4 or so IG Maker topics that have been made over the past year and a half if you want to read my impressions of the trial. I refuse to type it all again for the third time.

I think I had a right to in this case, as the most current IG Maker topic (and again, there have been multiple) is near the middle of the first page!

Sorry...I just need to give you s*** because I've been interested in this since it was announced (over 2 years ago now?), and would be working with it right now if it had any semblance of compatibility with Windows 7. Actually, Biggie...are you running it on Windows 7, and if so, did you have to download a patch from somewhere or get it to run in compatibility mode? Because I've been able to do neither.

Yes, and yes. it was a pain to get it to work on my computer.

(EDIT: Hate to do this, but the site you linked to hosts downloads of pirated RPG Maker software. So the link has to be removed. - Valk)

PLEASE PM me the link. I bought my laptop back in May specifically to run this software, and searched fruitlessly for a way to get it to run on a Windows 7 (ie-64 bit OS). Found a site that was supposedly hosting it, but it forced you to become a member before you could access the page. I became a member, and still could not access the page.


I was thinking I'd have to do an HDD backup, partition my HDD, and then reinstall everything. Being able to run this directly from Windows 7 would be a godsend, and might motivate me to get off my lazy ass and actually get back to making games again.

Doubtful, but it might happen.

Since linking to that kind of site is not allowed, perhaps you can copy and paste the solution here for getting it to run correctly on Windows 7, rather than linking. Please do not include the name of the source.

Ah, sorry, didn't realize it was a patch. No evidence of that fact by the time I got here. Well, unless I checked out the edits.

Actually, that's not a bad idea, John Mora. As more and more PCs are using Windows 7, it'd be nice to have that file somewhere readily accessible for future reference.


And I was on my lunch break when I posted that last one, Valk. Just thought about looking at the edit history right now while waiting for the bus.
