    PSP2

Not sure if this is legit.

    http://kotaku.com/5672410/psp2-will-...-out-fall-2011

Nintendo's only portable advantage will be simply be gone. (aside from game library arguments.)

Edit: and is it just me or didn't the "new" PSPGO come out not that long ago?

    Re: Really Sony? (PSP2)

PSP go came out a year ago. Meanwhile, it just got an official price drop to $199. But a lot of places were selling it at that price already to get rid of it.

Nothing about what's been revealed of PSP2 impresses me yet. Meanwhile 3DS keeps giving me new reasons to want it. But I have to see the 3D in person before I can really decide.

PSPGO was just a marketing experiment to see the viability of downloads only console sales.

Not sure I'll pick up a PSP2 until they confirm it will play all older PSP games. Half the appeal of PSP was the ability to crack it for homebrewing.

Might be for me too, provided it has a good launch lineup.

Well, i think Sony has learned their lesson with the PSP, and think the PSP 2 will be significantly better supported, and i would be very surprised if there was not atleast SOME kind of BC. You can be sure that any downloadable game will work on the PSP 2, just cannot guarantee the same with UMD games, but i guess we will see.

The smart thing would be for Sony to make sure the ENTIRE PSP library ends up on the PSN by the time the PSP2 debuts, but who knows.

Sony's kind of retarded about that. Capcom has been wanting Mega Man Powered Up on there for a very, very long time (they even gave a release date at one point, which was a week or two from their announcement), but... yeah.

So I could have the joy of buying all the games I already own again? Yay!

Nintendo's penchant for backwards compatibility in their handhelds was what kept me with them as long as I did. It helped make up for the other failings of the GBA lineup when it was supplemented with original Game Boy games. So if Sony wants me to get this, they'll be throwing in UMD support. None of that, none of my money. You suckers never should have put Tactics on the PSP; now I'm fine if I never update my hardware again.

All these specs are rumors and the picture in the article is a mock-up from a fan that's years old.

                        This x1000.

On the slim chance they've learned anything the past five years, I'll only look into it if the software library's a match to the 3DS' and if it's *** SPOILERS ***
                        homebrew capable.
                        *** END SPOILERS ***

Honestly, I'm interested in the 3ds, but I think it is going to be a colossal/ failure and headache inducer and will have more gimmicky shovelware than the ds.
