I am working on a video series about RPG Maker Tsukuru 4 in my free time, which is much easier to work on in short spurts, as well as more relaxing ('cause I'm tired at the end of the day and don't always feel like writing assembly code or going through a couple million lines of compiled code written in Japanese).
The video series is going to explore as much of the software as possible, so it wont' be terribly short. I just got a new microphone and pop filter, and right now I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to cover, in what order, and how to make it more interesting than just me going through a bunch of menus.
The videos will be of the in-progress translated RPGT4 that I'm working on. So parts of it will be in Japanese, and parts in English (I'd like to say somewhere around 50/50). But you'll all be able to see my translation work for yourself soon enough. Below I have indicated the progress with the translation for each part of RPGT4.
I am planning on publishing the series on my seldom-updated blog (link in sig), but I will make announcements here with the release of every new episode. Further, I am planning on releasing each video in 720p HD in high & low quality versions for the bandwidth-impaired.
I'm not too far into the planning atm, but here's my tentative outline:
White: Tentative
Pink: Finalized
Yellow: In Progress
Blue: Complete
Once I start writing my scripts, and finalizing things, the above outline will be changed/updated if at all.
If there are any special features, specific topics, or anything else that you would like me to include in this series, please let me know ASAP.
While I am doing this for the community (and hopefully to convince agetec that we really, really, want a new maker in the States), I'm also doing this to learn more about video editing (which is what, in HS, I thought my future career would be
).
Being as this is going to be in HD and the game is 480p, I will have extra screen real estate that I will try and figure out how to take advantage of in pleasing ways (i.e. additional content that appears on the side(s) of the screen at appropriate times).
As of yet, I don't have a time-table. But I'll post updates as things move along.
I hope to make this interesting and that people will enjoy it. Again, if you have any ideas or things you'd like to see, please let me know.
