    PSP2 in 2011

    http://www.vg247.com/2010/05/17/psp2...eginning-2011/

    'supposedly':

    -2 cameras
    -Touch Screen
    - 2 analog sticks
    - Games already in development
    - 4-core processor
    - "could" be 3G enabled as opposed to simple wifi.

And the article is 99% sure of it.

    **** you, Sony.
    ...and that's why.

I'm sure that's just some random mock-up. It doesn't even appear it was done as a PSP2 mockup, just a design for a PSP with two analogs.

I wonder if it was always slated for 2011, or if it was potentially moved up in response to how badly the PSP Go bombed.

It sounds great so far (although I don't know about the touch screen), but I want to hear about backwards compatibility and whether this will allow for physical games or just downloads.

          Glad I didn't buy a PsPGo!

Seriously though. Give it up Sony. Only Nintendo can get away with new hand-held models every 5 weeks.

          And I'm damned if I do and I'm damned if I don't

and you will still have to connect to a PS3 in order to play games online with it.

              it's a feature!

and they're totally ripping off the DSi with the cameras and such. nice. Way to be sony, sony.

Joking aside, I'm excited for it. I'll buy it. Hopefully Sony will lock out pirates as well as they did on the PS3, so that games can actually do well on the system.

new gen DS, new gen PSP, hooray!

So will it cost $400 or what?

I already find it pretty nuts that I could buy a PS3 for about $100 more than a PSP.

I just want the 2 analog sticks and a powerfu enough to play downloadable ps2 games. I don't care about the touch screen or cameras. But don't forget that sony had the camera idea for the psp before nintendo had the camera idea for the ds.

I think Nintendo gets that claim, cause of the whole Game Boy Camera thing. =V

Actually in 1814, Joseph Nicephore Niepce achieved the first photographic image with a camera. However, the image required 8 hours of light exposure and later faded.

                      You lose Nintendo.

Of course, it's rather hard for Sony to do too many new things in the handheld market that Nintendo hasn't already, given that Nintendo beat them onto the scene by about 15 years.

                            sony did a few firsts.

first downloadable games for a handheld game system
first analog horriblenubthing on a handheld game system
first handheld game system with multimedia functions (nintendo took this for the DSi)
                            first projectile-launching game system.

UK sources were previously working towards a “2010″ release. This is now “2011″.

One source would be “amazed” if there was any kind of physical media involved.
