    The Horrors of Fanfiction Contest Results are in!

    Quickest judging period ever! I havent even had time to play any of the entries yet!

    So how do I know who won?

    Because we only got one entry!

    Red Dragon's "New Accomplice and New Friend", for RPG Maker XP!

    It's based on this Blue Dragon fanfic.

    It's not only our first contest with one entry, it's also our first RPG Maker XP contest entry.

    In fact, now I have to go and open the RPG Maker XP pages for the pav! and they will feature ONLY THIS GAME!


    What a sad, sad day.

    I don't know what Red Dragon wins for this yet. I'll figure something out. I was gonna figure out the prize based on the number of submissions. but... I wasnt prepared for just one!

      Better than the results of the Mag's last big contest. If I recall, it got 0 entries.

      The interest just isn't there for RPGM contests, anymore, unfortunately. Most people would just rather work on their own game.

        I have interests in RPGMaker contests.

        Just not for fanfiction.

          I've been wanting to give a try at a contest lately, but I think I'd be more likely to do one in the summer when I have a little more free time.

            The contest idea was good in spirit, but shifting through fanfiction just to find a bad one good enough to work with seemed more troublesome than it was worth.

                    I'm guessing it's why he bothered to enter again. The chance of being the default winner was pretty high.

                      IIRC I won the garbage contest without submitting a game at all. It was the stupid experience of trying to give it to Valk that won. But other people submitted RPGM3 games.

                      Unless you're talking about another.

                      Then I just don't recall that one. As happens a lot with me.

                          Well, yeah...I guess the first was not really by "default" per se, but winning by ineptitude is almost as bad as winning by default.


                          I actually don't mean either of these as a negative towards you, RD. More than anything, I find the first to be funny and the latter to be a bit sad. Where are the glory days of the RPGM contests? Only Valk knows for sure!

                            To be fair, the librarian contest is going strong.

                              Honestly I think the turn outs haven't been that great because the contests as of late have been too restricting. I'd bet an anything goes style contest would generate a lot more entries... or at least a few. That way people could submit the games they've been working on. Perhaps that would also give them reason to finish their projects.

                              And congrats RD. I tried to make something, but just couldn't find motivation to make a game off of somebody elses work.
