For anyone else with a JP PSN account..

I'm looking for advice. Just ordered a 3000 yen PSN card from Play-Asia, along with some DS game with a bunch of extra bonuses (it was 65% off at $29.99) and the Asian version of Afrika (it's called Hakuna Matada ). Not sure exactly how much 3000 yen translates to, or how much stuff on the JP PS Store costs, but it came out to about 67 yen per dollar based on the price they were selling the card for.


Now just looking for advice in terms of what's a decent game or games (or videos/digital comics/etc) that I can play without having any real knowledge of Japanese. Thanks in advance.

Rule of thumb - just take off the last two digits to get a rough yen-dollar translation, so though 3000 yen is technically $32.65, $30 is a close enough guess...

I'm gonna bump this for the express purpose of making my fellow Pavvies aware of the treasure trove of PS1 games available for download at the JP PSN Store.

There seem to be all of the Megami Tensei/Shin Megami Tensei PSX ports (well, there are at least 5 or 6 Atlus PSX titles, and as I cannot read Japanese, I'm guessing that's what some of these are), along with a number of Cave shooters and other stuff.

I downloaded DoDonPachi tonight, in addition to a side-scroller from Treasure called Silhouette Mirage.

Plus, for anyone with a JP PSN account, there's a REALLY sweet Demon's Souls dynamic theme, and it's only 200 yen. 5 promotional videos for Catherine are up now as well.



Two side notes: In poking around Wikipedia to check out some of these games, on Treasure's page, it states that apparently Radiant Silvergun is gonna get ported to XBLA this year.

Also, this thread was apparently my first mention of the "witch poking game," even though I didn't know it at the time.

Well, at least they're getting a LOT more than we are, and a lot more variety.

We get some Squeenix games, some Spyro and Crash Bandicoot games, and a bunch of stuff like Jet Moto and other stuff you could have found/can still find used on disc for $5-$10 anyway. The PSX stuff on the NA PSN holds no interest for me, for the most part.


Oh, there's apparently a demo for Catherine out, but I'm not sure where people are getting it. I've scoured the JP store up and down, and was not able to find it.

I'm a bit reticent to do that, considering I permanently lost one of my gameshares with my "real" account when you sold that PS3 without deactivating my account info.
