          What he said.

While I agree the game didn't live up to its intentions I'm willing to see if they've learned from the criticisms of the first. In fact 16 mission types and a variety of enemies already fixes most of what was lacking in the original.

Because when I think stealth. I think hammer and spear.

            - You CAN swim

            Holy ****. Swimming? That innovation

            - Da Vincis workshop is in the game

            Our game has characters

            - Locations include Saint Marks Basilica, The Grand Canal, The Little Canal, and the Rialto bridge.

            Our game has settings

            - The game opens in 1476, Altair is from 1191

Our game has a character from a setting

            - So you do indeed play as a new ancestor of Altair / Desmond

            More characters

-You will see the countryside of Tuscany

            More settings

            - The "Auditore" family is mentioned

            Yes we made more characters

            - The main characters name is Ezio Auditore de Firenze

Our characters sometimes have names too

            - He is a nobleman of Florence

            With backgrounds!

            - Big characters are in the game including Machiavelli, Caterina Sofrza, and Lorenzo de Medici

We're such a cleaver game company. We make characters from history!

            - YOU DO INDEED GLIDE on Da Vincis flying machine.

We weren't satisfied inventing swiming in video games, so we invented gliding too

            - Game will feature a new notoriety system that governs how enemy soldiers and people will treat you.

We saw other games doing this and thought it was pretty cool

            - You can disarm enemies and use their own weapons against them this time.

We figured if we're gonna take mechanics from others games might as well go the whole nine yards

            - Each weapon has a special move.

            see above

            - 16 unique mission types.

By unique we mean you star from a different place on the map

            - No more ease dropping or pick pocketing missions.

Yeah those did suck, our bad. So instead of trying to make them fun or anything we just took the lazy approach and tossed them.

            - If you get beat up to much you will need to see a street side doctor to regain full strength.

We thought it sounded pretty cool on paper. And history shows, what's good on paper is good in real life (Our game has history in it, so we're history experts)

            - Hidden objects (like flags in the first one) are there to uncover but this time if you track them down you will get in-game bonuses that make it worth your time.

Still on that game stealing train!

            - Items include, flags, statues, and gold coins and more that isnt mentioned.

It's still finding some amount of ****.

            - New enemy types with unique attitudes and weaknesses are present in the game. Archers are mentioned, as well as elite enemies, dagger wielders, "Brutish" armored troops with heavy armor and 2 handed swords and axes, and an intelligent halberd enemy will probe hiding places with their weapons if they think you're near by.

We ripped off metal gear too!

            - While hiding in a hay bail you can assassinate people this time, but it may expose your position.

            (read: will expose your position)

            - You can still climb towers and ride horses

Just in case you were worried we took that out

            - The Lorendo de Medici assassination attempt is in the game.

            See! An assassination misson! Unique!

            - There is now a night and day sequence in the game.

I think the stealing has come full circle

            - 240 people are working on this title.

            Just so you know

                    Re: Assassin's Creed 2

Ubisoft Montreal is a terrible company. They ruined Splinter Cell, Far Cry, and Prince of Persia. The games they make are totally half assed. It's like they spend the entire budget in the first month, realize 90% of the game is unfinished, then pad out the length with the same mission structure.

                    But that's just my opinion.

                        Re: Assassin's Creed 2

I liked the premise of the original, but the missions where all about the same. Now if they actually have a variety of missions then this game should be pretty good. In the first, one I enjoyed running on the tops of buildings, the sneaking kills, throwing people off of buildings, and the combat system that is more about timing. Was such a shame about the missions.

                              Tinten knows what's up.

The first game was repetitive and boring. Holy crap was that story dull. It's like they played MGS2 and decided "Hey, let's base a WHOLE game around DNA strands, hexagons and sneaking! Only let's take all the fun out of it!"

Best thing about it was the climbing animation.

I'm not about to get hyped over a Game Informer article. Y'know, because the games featured on their covers always end up well.
