    RM2 = Much better than I thought

    Due to some complicated circumstances I ended up buying two copies of RM2 and both a SharkPort and MaxDrive. LOL, quite a bit of money spent considering I thought the game would be complete crap. But ya know what. I'm very impressed with it. I thought I'd hate the graphics but now that I'm seeing them in action they just work somehow. So far I've tried PseudOthello (I suck at it), Zelda Link's Adventure, The Banishing, SD Paradise, and watched Tabloid. PseudOthello and Tabloid were the first ones I downloaded so in no time I got to see how much variety you can get out of RM2. So what do you guys suggest I play? What's good, what sucks? And is there anything that can help me figure out making a game? I don't plan on making a game for RM2 because by the time I can do anything RM3 will be out but I'd still like to get an understanding of it. With RM1 the manual was Greek to me at first but I was able to jump in and mess around with stuff then use the manual to fill in the details. With RM2 neither the manual nor the Game's interface makes any sense to me.

    Thanks. I knew the info was out there but most of what I found is for people who already know how to use it but are trying to figure out something more specific or get around a limitation.

      OOH I SAW My game in the list! So what did ya think?! Also for figuring out stuff in RPGM2 use the Start Help a lot! Even in situations where you think you would not get anything. Like just over the name of a premade variable.
      Everything is a Riemann sum of a lot of nothing.

        I found the most useful help file in a place I did not think to press start ever... I found it by accident!!

        In the script editor, press start in an empty script field, you know... the bit where commands are entered, or inbetween lines of a script (yes, another example of reading between the lines to get the most information!). There is an enormous file there. Up until I stumbled upon that I was just pressing start (to summon a help file) over specific things like commands and such.

        Good Luck with it.

        Peace.

        MOO!

          Neonash, I didn't get far in Link's Adventure because I couldn't figure out what to do in the graveyard. But what I've seen so far I liked. It was cool and felt more like a real Zelda game than I expected it to. I also checked out your Triforce demo and it was very impressive. Can't wait to see the full game you build around that engine.

            Sorry the beginning lacks a little direction because you actually need to go to the beach and get the powergloves from the beachman to move a grave up a spot. That'll lead into the dungeon section A. I have the strategy guide on my site HERE. It's pretty spoiler free and just gives direction of which room to go to next and solve puzzle on your own kinda thing and has a map and item location for all the dungeons and co-op missions.

              Thanks a lot Nash. Now I'll get a chance to really enjoy the game.

              Also I played your stealth ninja demo and it was one of the most enjoyable things I've played. Are you going to make a full game of it? You're really talented with RM2. I'm going to stop now cause this is starting to get into brown nose territory, which is strange considering I'd have nothing to gain by it. Just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy the stuff that you've made so far.
