    Order of things

What is the best order to make things in? I started my game but every time i start making something it seems like theres 10 other things i have to make first. If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appectiated.

    Re: Order of things

Aesthetically Simple: Character Models, Enemy Models, Object Models

Systematically Simple: Items (without Direct and Indirect Effects), Units

Systematically Difficult: Scripts, Direct Effects, Indirect Effects, Party Members, Enemies

Aesthetically Difficult: Map Editor, Dungeon Editor, Building Editor, Visual Effects Editor

As for what needs to made before others, this is the order:

Character/Object Models->Object Placement->World Organization (this results in stuff the player can't interact with, example: a flower)

Scripts(and Character/Object Models)->Events->Event Placement->World Organization (this results in stuff the player can interact with, example: a townsperson)

Scripts->Events->Direct Effects/Indirect Effects->Abilities/Items (this results in stuff that can be performed in/out of battle, example: a healing potion, a magic spell, the visuals for the stuff are made through Scripts, Events, and Visual Effects)

Party Members (results in available party members)

Enemy Models->Enemy Actions(these often use Visual Effects)->Enemies->Units->Unit Placement->World Organization (this results in random battles, you can make them non-random by using Events with Scripts that have the Event Battle script command (in that case you go to Events+Scripts instead of Unit Placement)

NOTE: For Party Members, Enemies, Direct Effects, and Indirect Effects -ALWAYS- copy and edit the presets.

This is pretty obvious, but planning the story definately comes before all that.
"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."

Better yet write down what types of things do you want in your RPG on paper that's what i'm doing right now. that's why i've have'nt been here in a while.

If you want some examples of ideas i'll give you some examples.
There is one thing that pretty much disturbes me in an SRPG....

          Maronakins.
