    Blogging Super Metroid

The game many people consider not only to be the best game in the Metroid series, but also to be the best games ever created. That's right kids, I'm talking about Super Metroid. I finally got around to downloading it, and here it is on my Wii after all these years. I was a Genesis kid so I missed out on all the SNES classics like Donky Kong Country, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, and Final Fantasy VI... but most of those were made into ports for other systems, so I was able to get to them eventually. Somehow though, Super Metroid always remained just out of my reach.

So here I am, face to face with the "greatest game ever". Mighty big boots to fill, I might say. I've played and enjoyed all the other Metroid games mind you, but how could this one be so much better than those? I loved the first Metroid Prime, and the two GBA Metroids weren't too shabby either. But what makes this one so much better than all the others? Was it because Super Metroid was the first one to do it, or did it do everything much better than the other ones? I intend to find that out, and without further ado, I present to you...

    Expect some impressions... soon.

It's not like I feel left out because I didn't get to play these games in their former glory, and get angry at everyone else for having "nostalgia-goggles".

I loaned the SNES to a friend recently, and he got to play super metroid for the first time. He seemed to really enjoy it. He also demolished SMW and LttP. Next up: Actraiser.

It ruled the UK for quite a while, though.

I dunno, my friend couldn't stop playing it, and said he'd shirked work and family in order to complete it ASAP.

I had a Genesis instead of a NES as well,

Mainly because back then I didn't even understand the difference.

And this attitude is what makes me hate people that had SNES.
