Disgaea 3

Comes out the 28th, boys. I already preordered mine and I eagerly await. Just thought I'd give a heads up to any fans that didn't know blah blah.

It looks like they took sprites from the previous games, applied a horrible anisotropic filter on it and then slapped them on hi-res 3D models. All of the screenshots I've seen are horribly scaled so it'll probably look better on a real tv but blech is this game unappealing compared to other 2D games like Odin Sphere.

And what's the deal with the US box art? Is it really that difficulty to copy the Japanese art instead of giving us a poorly drawn face? They did the same thing with Soul Nomad which had a beautiful box cover and the US version ended up being a boring pose of the main character with gaudy red background.

...i'll end up playing this game for 80+ hours...

The fisrst Disgaea is amazing, and I'm playing it on the PSP right now. Unless this one is like, OMFG super-amazing I don't see any reason to buy this.

Disgaea 2 was annoying. Phantom Brave was pretentious. La-Pucelle Tactics was un-refined.

So far the graphics have me unimpressed. This is supposed to be PS3 right? Why do the sprites still look PSOne era?

They are 2d sprites... how are they suppose to look?

Anyway, I guess I'm the only one getting it so I'll let you guys know how it is when I get by hands on it.

I like Phantom Brave a lot. Mostly because of these guys.

There are three things about Phantom Brave I didn't like. 1) Permanent stat changes everytime they are summoned. 2) Limited time to summon 3) Everyone is a jerk to that poor little girl.

I had a hard time figuring out Phantom Braves's gameplay. I think I just like the straight forward gameplay of Disgaea.
