    XP on Vista

Okay, here's the thing. I am using RPG Maker XP on multiple computers so I installed it and the RTP on my 2 GB flash drive so I could use it whenever I'm at home computer or my other computer. When I run it on my home computer (running Windows XP) I have no problems at all. When I run it on my secondary computer (running Windows Vista) I get "RPG Maker XP has stopped working" error. I have tried many suggestions such as setting the compatibility (I've used all compatibility settings in the Vista list), and tried the "Run As Administrator" and I still get "RPG Maker XP has stopped working" message. Is there anything else I can do to make it work on the Vista computer? Thank you.

I think VX was released just for this reason

Would the other computer be at your friends house? If so you should tell him/her to get a legal version.

the japanese version of RPG Maker XP required a patch to work on vista, but the US version of RPG Maker XP works fine on vista. I run it with no difficulty. it just has to be run as an administrator with XP SP2 compatability.

I'm running RMXP off my flash drive. Why would the second computer need a copy of its own if everything is on my flash drive?

RPGMXP doesnt have any registry entries when installed?

Im pretty sure it does, and saving it on a flash drive doesnt store the registry entries, whats probably happening is when you try to start it the program looks for the registry entry(probably a configuration key or something) when it starts and cant find/load it, thats why you keep getting the "not working" error.

when you buy XP, it only gets one install on one computer. I believe you have to get additionaly activation keys from enterbrain.
