Please forgive any ignorance, the last I heard of the game outside the X series is from playing Mega Man 7 back in '95 (which was really bland).

Yes. You should track down 8. it's a damn good game, even though the jetboard segments are complete ****. DEFINATELY play Megaman & Bass (think of it as Mega Man 8.5, as that's where it fits in the timeline), but preferably the Super Famicom version, as it's controls are better than the GBA game (more buttons tends to do that).

So. Um. Aside from characters, what make the classic series different from X?

After how great Powered Up turned out, I wouldnt mind 3D. As long as Keiji Inafune is in charge, I know it'll be great. and I'm sure he's in charge, since he said he has wanted to make a 9th game, but wouldnt allow it until he was sure he would have time to do it himself (same goes for the legends series).

So this is just a confirmation that it's being made, and there aren't any screenshots yet? Mega Man is awesome. I never beat any of the games though...

Here's a title I have been waiting a while to see. Hopefully they'll make it right.
I'm curious though...considering the increased power of the new systems, I wonder what they will do with it in terms of game length and details if it is made in 2D.
