Alright, so I've been wanting to make a guide for my game. This section will likely undergo a lot of changes so don't trust anything you see in here now =P. As of now Fantasia Saga (henceforth FS) is still in the making, so the information here will not be comprehensive. I'm not going to attempt to make this entire guide in one sitting, so I'm just going to post a little at a time until the guide is completed. Eventually I want to have separate topics dedicated to specific aspects of the game, like an in-depth FAQ that you find on GameFAQs (Such as a guide dedicated solely to the Monster system mechanics). For now I'm just going to pile all of the information onto this topic.
Introduction:
Hello, I am Jacob Kenyon a.k.a. JANK, the creator of Fantasia Saga (FS). This is my guide to the game. There will be some possible spoilers contained herein but I will mark them as such for those that don't want to see them. FS is, as you probably already know, a spin-off of Squaresoft's SaGa Frontier (henceforth SF, not to be confused with FS), so if you know a little about that game then you will automatically know a little about FS as well. The fundamental difference, of course, is that FS is an amateur game created with RPG Maker 1 software (and by a single developer), and SF is a professional game created by a team of some of history's finest game developing minds. Anyway, that's enough with the disclaimers. Let's get onto the guide!

3) Characters
There are 3 types of characters in FS; Humans, Robots, and Monsters. They each have a different style of development. Humans gain experience by leveling and gain skills and magic through a skill and magic shop system (see the Human Skills and Magic Skills sections for details). Robots must buy upgrades to become stronger (See the Robots section for details). Monsters absorb enemy monsters and change their form to become more powerful (Details in the Monsters section).

An in depth look at the characters
Art:
Human, Male
Recruited: in front of Mine Cave.
Skill Class Type: Treasure Hunter
Skill Specialties: Bow, and Mind
Innate Magic: None
Weapons: Bows and Guns
2 Hands: No
Stat Growth (Starts at Lv10):
STR 5
VIT 2
STA 9
INT 3
AGI 3
LUCK 2
CON 2
Comments: Art is the only bow user in the game. Use him if you're tired of Swords and Guns.
Lily
Human, Female
Recruited: at Wong School
Skill Class Type: Fighter
Skill Specialties: Fist and Mind
Innate Magic: Cure
Weapons: None
2 Hands: No
Stat Growth (Starts at Lv6):
STR 4
VIT 1
STA 8
INT 5
AGI 3
LUCK 2
CON 2
Comments: Lily is actually one of the more useful characters in the game, simply because she has the innate gift for Cure magic. She gets a good amount of MP for a fighter type character. The downside is that she's a fist user, which means that her normal attacks won't hold a candle to the sword and gun users by the end of the game. If you're going for a powerful late game character then Lily probably isn't the best choice.
Ozborne
Human, Male
Recruit: N/A
Skill Class Type: Magic User
Skill Specialties: Mind
Innate Magic: Mirage
Weapons: Swords and Guns
2 Hands: No
Stat Growth (Starts at Lv12):
STR 2
VIT 1
STA 8
INT 9
AGI 2
LUCK 3
CON 3
Comments: Well if you've got Ozborne in your party, then you're playing as him because he can't be recruited. As a main character he is very powerful, but he has the most difficult scenario. He is exactly like Mordock.
Valerie
Angel, Female
Recruit: N/A
Skill Class Type: Angel
Skill Specialties: Sword
Innate Magic: Cure
Weapons: Swords and Guns
2 Hands: Yes
Stat Growth (Starts at Lv25):
STR 5
VIT 1
STA 9
INT 11
AGI 4
LUCK 1
CON 3
Comments: Like Ozborne, Valerie isn't recruitable. Unlike Ozborne however, her scenario is the easiest of the bunch. She is the only character in the game that can get the "Heal All" spell, and she starts with it. She also has a massive amount of MP so she can use it. You probably won't see a Game Over screen with her unless you try to take on Galamoth at the beginning of the game.
R-JK2
Robot
Recruited: at Trash Bar
Skill Class Type: Robot
Weapons: Swords and Guns
2 Hands: Yes
Starting Stats:
LP 130
MP 40
Attack 65
Defend 30
AGI 25
LUCK 10
CON 9999
Comments: R-JK2 is a very good character. He is super versatile and he can equip two weapons! Being a robot though, he will probably suck all of the money out of your pocket since robots need to buy their upgrades.
Steam Bot
Robot
Recruited at: the Factory in NW. You must have R-JK2 in your active party to recruit Steam Bot.
Skill Class Type: Robot
Weapons: Guns
2 Hands: No
Starting Stats:
LP 150
MP 20
Attack 50
Defend 35
AGI 15
LUCK 5
CON 9999
Comments: Steam Bot is there if you want a second robot in your party. He's not nearly as good as R-JK2 but he is no pushover either.
Slime
Monster
Recruited: in the left room of Gallant Castle in West World.
Skill Class Type: Slime
Starting Stats:
LP 55
MP 15
Attack 45
Defend 10
AGI 20
LUCK 0
CON 0
Comments: Slime starts with ridiculously low stats. but that doesn't even really matter. Why? Because he's a monster of course! Monsters are meant to adopt new stats easily. Just absorb any monster and you can say goodbye to Slime's crappy starting stats.
Zenobob
Monster
Recruited: in Swampland. You must talk to the alien looking guy in Magic Village first.
Skill Class Type: Beast (Goblin King)
Starting Stats:
LP 110
MP 50
Attack 75
Defend 20
AGI 30
LUCK 15
CON 20
Comments: Zenobob, like Slime, is a monster! This means that his starting stats don't really matter, unless you want to keep his first form. He will get outclassed very quickly though unless you morph him.
Galamoth
Monster
Recruited: at Monster Island. You have to beat him first.
Skill Class Type: Dragon (Black)
Starting Stats:
LP 430
MP 200
Attack 360
Defend 110
AGI 100
LUCK 150
CON 500
Comments: Galamoth is also technically a monster, but he doesn't have the ability to absorb other monsters. Why would you want to anyway!? Look at his stats! He's a beast, and no I don't mean the "Beast" monster type either. Nuff said.
Wrestler
Human, Male
Recruited: in the casino in NW.
Skill Class Type: Fighter
Skill Specialties: Fist
Innate Magic: None
Weapons: None
2 Hands: No
Stat Growth (Starts at Lv9):
STR 6
VIT 2
STA 10
INT 0
AGI 1
LUCK 2
CON 2
Comments: Wrestler is well, a different kind of character. He has the highest LP growth of all the characters but he can't use magic at all and he has very low agility. I'll leave it to you to decide whether or not it's worth it to use him. He's also a fist user, which means no weapons for him.
Steve
Human, Male
Recruited: at Headquarters in NW. For most characters you need to finish the quest for Ice magic before he will permanently join you.
Skill Class Type: Treasure Hunter
Skill Specialties: Sword, Gun, and Mind
Innate Magic: None
Weapons: Swords and Guns
2 Hands: Yes
Stat Growth (Starts at Lv12):
STR 4
VIT 2
STA 9
INT 2
AGI 1
LUCK 1
CON 2
Comments: Steve is one of the few characters that can equip two weapons. In fact he starts out with two weapons equipped. He's also the most versatile human character. He can use Gun AND Sword skills. The downside is his low agility.
Melee
Human, Female
Recruited: in Gallant Castle. After you accept the Fire quest in Magic Village go to the throne room and Melee will accompany you to the Fire Shrine. She's all yours now. You don't even have to complete the quest.
Skill Class Type: Fighter
Skill Specialties: Sword
Innate Magic: None
Weapons: Swords and Guns
2 Hands: Yes
Stat Growth (Starts at Lv15):
STR 6
VIT 1
STA 8
INT 1
AGI 3
LUCK 3
CON 2
Comments: Melee is a real powerhouse. She can equip two weapons and she has some nice AGI and LUCK to boot! In some ways she's better than Steve, but she has very low MP growth. She starts out with a nice sword skill (Ray Sword).
Dark
Human, Male
Recruit: Talk to him a couple of times in the stairway before you go down to the last Hood base. Only Lily can get Dark.
Skill Class Type: Fighter
Skill Specialties: Sword, and Mind
Innate Magic: Status
Weapons: Swords and Guns
2 Hands: Yes
Stat Growth (Starts at Lv27):
STR 4
VIT 1
STA 8
INT 4
AGI 3
LUCK 3
CON 2
Comment: You won't get to use Dark very much. The only time you can recruit him is towards the end of Lily's scenario. However, he is a very good character. He starts out at a high level, so even if you've been training you should be able to just add him to your party. The best thing is that he starts out with Slash Fest. The bad thing about him is that he can't learn any new magic.
Mordock
Human, Male
Recruited: at Magic Village. He's standing right in the front. You can't miss him.
Skill Class Type: Magic User
Skill Specialties: Mind
Innate Magic: Mirage
Weapons: Swords and Guns
2 Hands: No
Stat Growth (Starts at Lv12):
STR 2
VIT 1
STA 8
INT 9
AGI 2
LUCK 3
CON 3
Comments: Mordock is the cheat character. Seriously! It's called Magic Shield; try it some time. The only thing that's bad about Mordock is that he's not much of a physical attacker, but who cares!? You'll probably be casting spells with him every turn, so you will need to keep a few MP Potions on hand if you're going to use him.
Sybil
Human, Female
Recruited: at Merlin in West World. She is standing right at the front of the town.
Skill Class Type: Magic User
Skill Specialties:Gun and Mind
Innate Magic: Cure
Weapons: Swords and Guns
2 Hands: No
Stat Growth (Starts at Lv1):
STR 2
VIT 1
STA 7
INT 7
AGI 2
LUCK 0
CON 3
Comments: Sybil is the only other "Magic User" type character that you can recruit besides Mordock. What does this mean? It means she rocks with magic. She starts off with the Gift for Cure magic which is always an awesome thing. She actually has an advantage over Mordock in that she can use Gun skills too! Obviously though, her stats are not up to par with Mordock, and she starts off at LV1. It doesn't take long to level her. Just make sure that you don't try to fight a tough boss before leveling her!
4) Human Skills
In order for Human characters to learn skills they must purchase them with Skill Orbs at the Skill Shop in New Work. Your main character will learn skills automatically when you defeat certain story bosses, but you can still teach them with Skill Orbs if you want to. There are 3 types of Skill Orbs; "Skill Orb A", "Skill Orb B", and "Skill Orb C". Skill Orbs are dropped at random by certain monsters. The type of Orb you get is correlated with how strong the monster is, with A being the weakest and C being the strongest. Some skills require a combination of Skill Orbs to learn.
Skills are broken down into weapon based categories. There are five types of human skill specialties; Sword, Gun, Fist, Bow, and Mind. Certain characters specialize in certain of these categories. Here is the list of skills by specialty type and the Orb(s) that are required to learn these skills:

5) Human Magic
Magic is obtained similarly to skills, in that you purchase them with Magic Orbs at the magic shops in Magic Village. Also, as with the Skill Orbs, there are 3 types of Magic Orbs; A, B, and C. "Magic Orb A"s are dropped by low tier monsters, "B" by mid-tier, and "C" by high tier monsters. However, unlike skills, you are limited in the kinds of spells that you can learn from the beginning of the game. This brings us to the next point about magic, gaining the Gift.
Magic is broken up into types or classes much like skills. The different types are: Fire, Ice, Lightning, Cure, Status, Destruction, and Mirage magic (technically there's Monster magic too but that is a different thing altogether). You may purchase the basic spells for Fire, Ice, Lightning, Cure, and Status magic with "Magic Orb A"s at any time, but in order to learn more powerful spells you must gain the Gift for each type of magic individually. For example: If you get the Gift for Ice magic you can purchase any of the Ice spells, but you still need to get the Gift for Fire magic if you want to purchase higher level Fire spells as well.
Some characters (see character section) have an innate gift for a particular type of magic. This means that they will learn spells of that magic type automatically from leveling.
Mirage magic cannot be purchased with magic orbs; it can only be learned by Ozborne and Mordock who have the innate Gift for Mirage magic.
Destruction magic is considered to be the ultimate magic in FS. In order to get even the basic spells of Destruction magic, you will need to gain the gift for all other types of magic first (excluding Mirage)! This means that you must gain the Gift for Fire, Ice, Lightning, Cure, and Status magic before you can even take on the quest to get the Gift of Destruction magic.
The walkthroughs for each of the magic quests are in the Sidequests section.
Here's the list of magic types and the individual spells in each category with their Orb requirements and effects. All humans except Wrestler can use magic. Dark cannot be taught magic from the magic shops, but he does possess the innate Gift for Status magic.
* = This spell can only be learned by users with the "Magic User" skill class, namely Ozborne, Mordock, and Sybil.

6) Robots
There are 2 playable robot characters in FS, R-JK2 and Steam Bot. Robots differ from humans in some fundamental ways. First off, they don't gain any experience from fighting. Instead they must purchase their upgrades at the Factory in NW to get stronger. Robots can be your strongest party members if you put the investment into them, but it will cost you (literally). Robots have the advantage of being immune to status effects as well. However, they have a relatively low maximum potential compared to humans.
The Factory in NW is a place that you will be visiting pretty often if you're using a robot in your party. This is where all your robot business will be conducted. First of all you can purchase Steam Bot here for 250G if you have R-JK2 in your active party. The game does not keep track of your G in most cases (such as Inns), and this purchase is no exception. You can actually get Steam Bot for free if you don't have any money, otherwise it'll cost you 250G.
R-JK2 and Steam Bot have some differences as well. R-JK2 is much more versatile because he can change body types (after you purchase them). Other than that, both robots pretty much use the same method of upgrading. There are 3 categories of robot parts; Frame Upgrades, Parts, and Equipables.
Frame Upgrades
There are actually 2 sub-categories in the frame upgrade section; Body Types (R-JK2 only) and Tune Ups. You can purchase a tune-up kit for either R-JK2 or Steam Bot. After purchasing it, talk to the assistant again (the guy you buy the parts from) and he'll install it for you. The Tune Up is essentially a level up for a robot. There are only 2 kinds of tune-ups; J-Tune Up* and S-Tune Up* (the * indicates that this item can be purchased more than once). J is for R-JK2 and S is for Steam Bot. You just purchase the same item to level up more than once, however there is a maximum limit. Both R-JK2 and Steam Bot can only be tuned up (upgraded) a total of 3 times, with LV4 being the maximum level. Here is the list of Tune Ups and what they do for your robot:
J-Tune Up* (R-JK2 only):
Cost: 2000G
LP+40

S-Tune Up* (Steam Bot only):

Body types also must be purchased. Once you purchase a new body type you can change between any of the ones you own whenever you want. If you want to go back to R-JK2's original body just talk to the Owner of the factory. Here's the list of body types and their base LV1 stats (with no upgrades) including his original body for reference:

There are also 2 sub-categories of parts, but there are both purchased in the same shop screen; Programs, and Chips. Programs are spells or skills, and chips are one time only stat. increases. If you buy more than one of any part for each robot, you will be wasting your money. Here's the list:

Cost: 2000G
LP+40
MP+10
