I want to make a boss that you don't win against. How do I do it?
Simple. All you have to do is make the monster or character's class have ridiculous stats in comparison to your characters. If by Lv20, your main character has 67 defense, make the multiplier for the monster's strength about 8, make him Lv20, he'll have around 160. Also, you can throw in really high HP like 80000. Once that's over, make the event, but put a heal event to take place after the battle. If you're going to make it absolutely certain you want you're boss to beat the crap out of the party. If you want there to be, say, a boss you CAN win against, but don't have to, you'll need a Win/Lose branch, but I don't think many people will do that.
Can I make a spell or skill or something that allows you to scan the monster's HP?
No. I wish it were possible, too. You could always put a walkthrough for your game on the internet if you upload it to the internet that has all that stuff in it, but there isn't anything in-game.
My monsters have cooky HP values.
Let me guess. You put a value for the HP stat increase? If you want monsters, especially bosses, to have a DEFINITE HP value, put the desired amount under Base HP, and put 0 for the HP increase.
The monsters always critical my characters.
The monster's luck is too high. Tone it down, or you can always do what I did and make your characters immune to Criticals.
I can't do any damage!
This is easily fixed. Make your weapon have higher attack boost, put the monster's defense down, or put your attack up. I just avoid that problem altogether by making all enemies have 0/0 defenses. This way, you can focus more on how much HP to give them, rather than what damage you want to make them take. You don't HAVE to make them have 0/0, you can always choose to make the character's have higher attack.
My characters have way too high stats. They're only Lv12, and they already have 200+ stats!
First off, if you want your game to last from Lv1 to Lv99, make _sure_ that your characters' stat increases are LOWER than 10. The stat increase is just a rough number. If you use lost of equipment, make it even lower, like 7. If your stat increases are too high, you'll find your characters barely Lv50-60 and have 999 for their stats!
Bosses are too easy.
If the boss battles you set up are too easy, try to give the boss some immunities. For example, all of my game's bosses have Anti-Bad Status and Anti-Critical. You can always make the boss immune to a certain type of attack, or give them Death to their attacks. Gives their skill's power a boost. Maybe you want to have your final boss deal a massive 2000+ damage. Try making their magic attack high, like 12, beacuse final bosses probably won't reach Lv99 anyway. Then make attacks normally skills as magic, and viola, more power. I do that on occasions myself.
I don't want to let my characters escape a battle.
No problem again! You see, I noticed this: if you make a battle and put it in an event, the game system believes it to be a boss, and allows no escape from event battles as such, so anytime you want an unfleeable battle, pop it into an event.
The boss I face battles me over and over whenever I go to where I put the battle to take place!
Ah, I made the same mistake. Simply put the last Event Code as Display Off. No need to even change the event number, it'll be the one you're working on. You can also put it so that the event only happens at a certain variable, but that's much more complicated. I like it my way better.
I want to make a boss have more HP than 99999!
This isn't the best and coolest way, but I found this simple enough. You can make the boss have multiple forms by putting battles one after another with nothing in between, or you can put Revive/Full Revive on the boss. Like I said, it isn't the best way, but with those two ways mixed together, I have a final boss that technically has 379996, 179998 for form one, 199998 for the form two.
I hope you liked my advice on making your battles easier to control. If you don't like it, I'm sorry, and if I didn't cover something, please ask!
