    Wii Fit

Believe it or not, I was initially interested in the Wii Fit...then, I started watching the videos. Seriously, there's no way you can convince me this is a good effective workout...especially for someone who actually works out regularly! Yoga is glorified stretching, and I'm all for meditation, but you don't need to do that w/ a board on your ass.

Am I wrong? Do you think it looks like a substantial workout? Lemme know your thoughts.

I think that board is okay (I can picture it being used quite well in real games), but Wii Fit itself is easily the most retarded software to come out of the current hardware generation.

Funny, I was completely uninterested until I started seeing videos. I don't think it's meant as a workout but stretching and good posture is part of fitness too. And for somebody who wants to improve their flexibility and posture it's better than just getting a yoga video because a video can't tell you when you're doing it wrong.

If you're looking for Wii Fit to supplant going to the gym, you're retarded.

But we still love you, Kire. {:3

wii fit seems to be more for those who dont go to the gym and wants to maybe try it but dont feel right at a gym (obese people?). i guess its just a piece of software to test the market for that type of "game."

            Re: Wii Fit

I hate going to the gym. Personally I work out of home to cut out the waste of time that is the commute, but that's just me. I pretty much stick with stationary bike, free weights, and running at home.

But hey, I'm always looking for another option to keep things fresh and not get too bored. I've found DDR w/ ankleweights is a nice workout option, so I thought this might be something to check out. I was wrong.

Speaking of which, there was supposed to be some sort of Eyetoy Kung Fu teaching game that sounded interesting and fun. I don't think it ever came out over here.

              Re: Wii Fit

personally, if i lived in a house i may be more inclined to work out by having a home gym. i also have no desire to hit the gym and my place doesnt exactly meet the space requirements for a home gym. why dont you try running or biking kire? you can get a good leg work out that way and you could change pace by running in different places. to train other muscles maybe the standard bar bells and such can work? changing the venue is a good way to break routine, as is changing what you do with the products you have. might be some different weight training styles you could look into that would break away from your normal routine.

I don't think Wii Fit has any sort of athletic benefit at all. It's just a promotional device. If you think it's fun, fine! I might get it actually just for fun. But I'm still gonna go to the gym.

I go to the gym. I have for nine months, and before that I went while I could for free in college. I'm not a Greek god yet, though, but it's coming in. {:3
