    EGM = BULL****

I finally got my december issue yesterday, and I am already done with it.
I remember a little over a year ago they were like $6.95 for 100 something page issue, and now it's $9.95 for like what, 40 pages, half of which are ads.

At least I subscribed two months ago so I'm not paying that much for it, but still. It's a freakin RIP. It used to take me about a week of bathroom reading to finish an issue, and now only a day. At least it can be used for tp.

I am starting to loose my faith in EGM. What video game magazine should I be reading?

    None.

EGM is still the best multi-console magazine.

Gamepro rarely knows anything about the games they cover, and write with a much younger audience in mind.

Game Informer makes up news/release dates, stuff like that just so they can say it's exclusive info. when they aren't doing this, they're pretty good. I only read it when my friends have a copy of it laying around now, I havent bought it myself since they whined like 5 year olds and did a full-page rant when Akira Toriyama wouldnt let them put Chrono Trigger artwork on their cover and accused him of having a "big head".

game magazines are a dying breed right now, thanks to the internet. thats why they're getting smaller. if they just reprinted stuff you could find online, they wouldnt get any sales from people with the internet. so they focus on special features that aren't online to bring in the readers.

Its odd how people complains getting the December issue in the middle of November(not you Seraphim, talking about the magazine companies in general)

Its like car manufacturers creating and shipping out 2008 models in July 2007, makes no sense whatsoever...

That's probably the Holiday issue of EGM. I just got mine yesterday. I think it's smaller on purpose because it's actually a 13th issue for the year.

Getting a December issue before Halloween really confused me.

You're right, it is the Holiday issue. Oops. But still, most previous standard issues are just as small. My complaint is that the price is going up and the content is getting smaller, with more and more ads.

By the way, Thrillho is hilarious! That used to be my profile name for my FPS games.

EGM is the only one I really read. We also get Nintendo Power and Games for Windows, but the former is biased in favor of Nintendo and the latter just does PC games.

I had a sub for Nintendo Power that just recently ended. I mostly got it because I could get the subscription with Advance Wars DS strategy guide for about the same price as the guide by itself. I've also had subscriptions to Game Informer since it's on $10 at GameStop but haven't gotten one in about a year. Now I've just got two free subscriptions: EGM and Games For Windows. I had drawers full of magazines before we moved and I threw most of them out. Now I've got a couple (smaller) drawers full again.

I used to get EGM for a few years, but with sites like gamespot, there's really no point in waiting for something in the mail that will more than likely be outdated by the time I receive it.

But I can't read a website while I'm sitting on the can. Besides, I hate reading stuff on the computer, I like the portability of a magazine.

I know everyone hates this mag, but i really prefer Play Magazine now. I dont like most of the others, i get Game informer due to the gamestop thing. I got EGM for like 5 years because they let someone steal my credit card info.

Yeah, if i could only read on gaming mag anymore, it would be Play. And they dont skimp on the pages.

not to mention the page layouts have some actual personality. EGM and everything else i ever see have basic block format layouts. very boring.

                        i second Play Magazine.

Which is kinda sad, thankfully I don't pay of my game magazines anymore. (EGM through that deal and Game Informer through GameStop). I like GI better than EGM, not really for the articles, but just because it's so darn pretty in comparison. Only thing is that when Wii came out Nintendo didn't allow them to review it. Which I found odd.

I never scratch around the internet for information though, usually if I find out about a game it's either from the pav or one of the two magazines.

Few people in the industry like game informer because they've been caught making stuff up so many times. so it's not that surprising that nintendo gave them the shaft.

Play is good too, if you skip their review section.

EGM isn't as bad as PSM though. They have like a 10 page section called Cellplay that's ads for cellphone game in every issue. What's the point in that?
