    I SUCK AT HALO 3

    So I've never really played Halo games before. Only every once in a while when over at a friends to pass the time but never got into it, never had an original X-Box.

    Well I just bought Halo 3 and I have to say.

    Wow.

    I haven't been this bad at a game in YEARS. It's like I'm learning to how to play videogames all over again. I hate it. I want to throw the controller across the room in frustration.

    I'm sure it doesn't help that I'm playing in Heroic Mode (Trial by Fire), and that I'm still on the first ****ing mission stuck at a checkpoint because I keep on getting HeadShot and I can never seem to find a Carbine to take those Snipers out. And when I do I get flanked by some Brutes or something. I hate this game.

      after your anger turns to pure hate you will then be able to overcome this game. i stopped playing it after halo one as i predicted the story would take a dive. not a whole lot of advice to give other then keep at it until you get the feel of things.

        Somehow I thought it had something to do with online play. I usually do okay at games until I go against real people, then again I generally also start with "easy" difficulty for the first playthrough, then move up afterwards.

          Play on the normal difficulty, dur.

            I'd never played Halo before, so when I got Halo 3 I started on Normal difficulty single player and sucked. Then I realized that if you do Co-op it gets a lot easier. Me and a friend started on Normal and both sucked, then made it through Heroic and now we're starting on Legendary.

              Gosh, Halo 3 isn't that hard. The flood levels are the only real hard parts considering how they love to charge with 5 at once.

                I SUCK AT HALO TOO, HURRAY. It's the first game in a long time where me and my buddy couldn't play on the hardest difficulty available right off the bat.

                I'm also complete rubbish on foot in multiplayer, but give me a level where I can snag a Banshee and I'm death incarnate, pulling in MVP and getting the highest kill/death spread. I think it has something to do with years of being obsessed with flying the planes in Battlefield 1942.

                I suggest you go back in time and do that.

                  Or he could play on easy mode.
                  The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

                    I suck at FPSes in general. The only ones I consider myself decently good at are Goldeneye and Perfect Dark on the N64. But only decently.

                    I wouldn't survive my first mission with Halo 3.

                    Just play it on Easy mode so you get the hang of things. If you decide to tackle the harder difficulties (there's one called Legendary, right?) I strongly suggest to find people online to help you out.

                      My friend forced me to play this game last night. Solo, co-op, and death match.
                      This game is so BASIC, I don't understand the hype.

                      It is really pretty to look at, though. I'll give it that.

                        Basic? Tetris and Mario are the same basic 5 seconds of gameplay over and over too. Is that what you mean? I don't get what you mean.

                        I played co-op Legendary with 3 other friends last night. Soooooooooo fuuuuun.

                          Basic as in "Oh my god, this **** feels like every other generic FPS I've ever played I don't understand why THIS game in particular is getting such praise while others I've enjoyed do not."

                          Also the little guys you shoot up in the beginning of the game with the goofy voices annoy the hell out of me.

                            Oh, no, you're completely right. Those guys do not jibe at all with the rest of the game.

                            But I don't understand how this isn't better than any "generic" FPS. It has vehicles, you can switch between two completely different weapons, you have four grenade types, special items such as shields and gravity jumps... In the heat of battle you have a LOT of split-second decisions to make. That's exhilarating. And yeah, really frustrating at first.

                            I dunno, that doesn't fit the generic mold for me. Besides the plot, but whatever.
