Also, I don't even think I'd buy one if I saw it now, cos all that excitement and "buzz" is gone from the initial launch.

Also the graphics on the Wii suck.

I can only see Wii out-doing XBox360 now if they get some good 3rd party support, and I mean people who aren't Nintendo that actually use the system for everything it's worth. Haven't seen that yet.

Most of the 3rd party releases have been generic cash-ins - games that they know will sell because of the Wii's gimmick. RE4 is one example.

The Wii does need something NOT made by Nintendo that isn't a PS2 port.

Unfortunately I have a feeling that it'll get overlooked by 3rd party developers because it's so drastically different from the other two systems on the market. Plus it's Nintendo. All the 3rd party developers hate Nintendo.

Right now the Wii is selling so well because people want to experience that initial gimmick, play Wii sports with friends every once in a while (hell, it's cheaper than going to the bowling alley every week), and such. Nintendo is releasing some impressive games for it in the next few months, but it won't save it if things continue as is.

It really needs some working online play. If they can make the DS's online play free, why not the Wii? That would really help Nintendo out, I think.

Unfortunately I have a feeling that it'll get overlooked by 3rd party developers because it's so drastically different from the other two systems on the market. Plus it's Nintendo. All the 3rd party developers hate Nintendo.

I don't think there's much worry of 3rd parties overlooking it with the incredible sales. The problem is most are still too uncertain or scared to try something different than what's already sold well. The launch batch (mostly Ubisoft) did such a bad job with most genres that it looked like those just don't work on Wii. Devs want to stick with what they know can work, like minigame fests and a sports title or two.

I was really interested in getting a Wii for a while there but now not so much. About the only reason I have left to want one is virtual console and GameCube games to catch up on the games I missed between NES and PS1.

I got one in January. I only play VC games on it, but I had to stop buying them because I realized the prices were still too high.

third parties are coming along. Konami and Capcom both have really cool games coming up for it. Everyone (Ubisoft, mostly) treated it like the "port machine" early on, but then when those ports tanked and they made everyone mad, they abandoned that strategy. lots of original stuff is on the way now.

I know it's lame to say so, but the graphics really hurt the system for me. It's only as powerful as the original Xbox.

games only look as good as the developers want them too.
