    power leveling

how many of you power level in rpgs?

i personally love becoming overpowered and sweeping through the story with ease. other people say it makes the game unchallenging and that power leveling is boring, but i kind of zone out when i power level and in a weird way it becomes kind of relaxing because i dont put much thought into it.

    Re: power leveling

Whenever just fighting the battles that come up along the way isn't good enough I get ticked off. I hate having to spend time in one area just to get strong enough to move forward, I want to keep moving.
I want that Mulan McNugget sauce, Morty!

I tend to power level early on, and then as the game progresses I become closer and closer to what the natural level would be.

I fight whatever appears or attacks me the first time through. The other times I power level just for fun.

I won't run from a fight. This almost always leads to me being on a much higher level than recommended for a boss.

Likewise, fight every battle I come across. I only power-level when it's required for final bosses (and it often is), or as a result of having to spend multiple hours around a town to amass gold to afford new equipment.

Power Leveling can give you the real rewards in MMORPGs
              that have PVP.

When I power-level in most RPGs, I always make sure I have a couple of sodas on hand to stay awake and focused.

If I'm too lazy to power level, I'll turn to my Gameshark to provide

I used to power level. I have sworn to never do it again.

My little brother is playing La Mulana. He spent ten minutes trying to wall jump over some platforms and through a repeating laser to get a treasure. He kept falling. It was an old school challenge - a great challenge. He couldn't level up his jumping stats. He had to DO or FAIL. In the end, a challenge like that is more satisfying than just making your party's numbers greater than the enemy's numbers.

Sorry, I just wanted to say that.

I'd like to try that sometime with Final Fantasy Tactics. I won't get ****ed off as much, and I'd actually be laughing hysterically....out loud....whenever my units are unfairly killed.

Skill should be more of a detrement to your success in videogames than your dedication to slay countless monsters in order to get "stronger".

Which is why I hate RPGs.

                          But I still play them.

Power leveling is usually just the side effect of me trying to learn new moves. Like in games such as FF6, Digital Devil Saga, etc.

i'm actually power leveling right now in final fantasy tactics.

i'm trying to master all jobs with my main character before i go on to the swamp area, which is the 4th location on the map.
