    Endings: What's Your Flavor?

Kind of curious. In a general sense, what sort of ending to things do you like? Tragic? Bittersweet? Happy?

I've never really been fond of happy endings.

It's really case by case for me. But mainly I like one that rewards you, be it though something overwhelmingly happy (FFVIII) or kick-ass (resident evil 2).

        Happy, but unexpected endings.

        Nothing too mushy. :P

DK summed it up perfectly though I tend to lean more towards bittersweet.

            Yeah.

Also, is it all right to rate something and its ending seperately? As in, is it okay to say something like, "I like it a lot, but I hated the ending"? I find that people often let the ending of something ruin the whole thing for them, despite the fact that their beef is only with about 3% of the entire product.

                Yes. Once more, FFVIII.

You felt rewarded for putting up with all it's BS and then getting a totally radical finish!

                  Probably bittersweet. See Before Sunrise.

                    Tragic endings are always refreshing.

Whether it be a happy or tragic ending, any ending is fine as long as it concludes the story in a reasonable fashion and ties everything up nicely.

Oh. Learning something from it would be nice, too. Though that's also the job of the rest of the story as well.

I like white text on a black background and violin music.

I like an ending that is majorly based on an obscure point made near the begining. I'm a comedy person.

I also like cliffhanger endings, where they keep me guessing until the second part of the story is told.
