    Sweet but hard!!!

Well now that I've come to my senses my games just arent working. So ive been planing for a month at least on Mar. 10th 2007. I will start " Fantasy Chronicle's". In the game your a boy named Leon who lives in Marnabow. He and his freind Naomi play a game called Phantasy Chronicles. So one day they decide to play they encounter a new player called GL1TCH, He lies to Naomi and Leon telling them that he is a GM. GL1TCH tells them he know a special training spot but it turns out to be a "Hacked Area" as refered to by real GM's. Naomi is badly injured by GL1TCH, but in this "Hacked Area" When players are jacked in to the game. They are injured in real life, Naomi enters trance and she is lifeless in the game unable to do or say anything. Well now as you may understand Leon has to save Naomi. Now for extras you can join a guild, leaving you to access special functions of the certain guild. When you beat the game you are able to choose your own character(s) and even make a guild---BUT this is limited because i have a certain amount of set names for the guilds--- This game willl be very hard I can tell already but when it is finished it will be awesome. Tell me Likes/Dislikes and/or Add-ins/Take-outs. THANKS

Maybe you should get some done first. A guild system is pretty hard to pull off, and if you have no idea how to make it work it's pretty stupid to plan it.

      what does that mean?
Well its not hard actually i've done it in other games. Just out of curiosity what do you think would be hard?

I've managed to do systems that give you varying degrees of control over domestic and foreign policy for a nation. I don't think there's anything more complex than that.

The hardest part will be fitting everything you need into a game with a story, given RPGM3's data limit.

I'll agree with Hito here--you're going to have a hard time making a good Guild system on RM3 (other RMs, such as 2, would be able to pull this off with far more panache, although I think it'll give you a very hard time), and you'll also have a hard time making the world really look like it's an online computer medieval world (I mean, hell, you can only have 100 people in RM3) as opposed to a bog-standard medieval world.

Having said that, it can be done. And what's more, even though the "what happens in the game happens in real life" has been done SO many times before (most notably in .hack), I still feel pretty intrigued by what you've got so far. Seems like a story that, if well-written enough, I would actually care about, and perhaps a world that I could have some fun in. I think on the whole it's a very neat idea and I'm looking forward to hearing more whenever you've got it.

If you'll forgive me, I was wondering about how you could be injured because of a game... if you were physically or neurologically connected to the game's mainframe (as implied by "jacked in"), then you could probbably be injured by some sort of feedback... there'd normally be protection against that sort of thing, but in those "Hacked Areas" someone's probbably figured out how to bypass those.
I apoligize for ranting on. Ever since I read "Writing Science Fiction and Fantasy" I'm always looking for how an event could be possible... one thing with writing science fiction is that you can't (by "can't" I mean "shouldn't") have anything that breaks any law of physics or any other law (you could, but you'd have to provide a reason why you broke it). Once again, I apoligize. It seems an interesting premise for a game.

I'm not talking about RPGM3's limits. I'm asking Grim if he knows how to bypass them, because if he doesn't it's dumb to "cross that bridge when it comes." What would be hard? Well, it depends how the guild system works. What events are different due to guild membership? Sometimes, you'll just need a val control branch for different dialouge or something, but other things are way more complex.

Yeah, man. Most of us here have gotten pretty good at bypassing the games limits. You should try to learn from one of us first. I know that some people have had more experience with the system than I have. Try going here
to see some examples of people cheating the system. Trust me, if you take a look at other people's ideas for workarounds, then you'll be better able to come up with some of your own. It really helped me alot.

Anyways, despite reminding me of .Hack and The Matrix, I like this idea ALOT better than the other one you posted. I say go for it, but learn your way around the system first, and PLAN AHEAD!

Hm, what other advice can I give you? I know:

You may have a point there. But I haven't entirely worked out how in "The Matrix" if your spirit dies, you die. Assuming there is such thing as a "spirit", transferring it to the Matrix would be something like transferring a computer program, exept that terminating the spirit will kill the spirit's body. as for "Tron", I don't know much about that, so...
Once again, I apoligize for rambling.

Perhaps you should stick to one game and make it instead of posting spur of the moment ideas?

As I understand it, Tron is pretty much the 80's version of the Matrix...
