Star of Eight Points : Bauble
Platform – RPGM2
Release Date - ? When I learn to use the program.
World : The Star of Eight Points in not a star, but a world in of itself. A tangle of the eight elements of Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, Life, Death, Light, and Darkness, it existed in a peaceful balance. Each point of the Star lived within it’s own isolation, having knowledge of the other seven points. Superstitions amongst each Point’s inhabitants flourished, keeping them from wandering past their own borders. Although sounding like the individual points of a star, the truth was that the Star of Eight Points was a world, separated by the different climates of each world. Each Point has a central town, and smaller establishments ebbing off from it. The Points are separated by superstition and huge mountain ranges.
Points: Fire – Fire is a consistently burning wild-fire, with lava rivers and constantly churning volcanos. The inhabitants are fire sprites, dwarves, and wyrms. The central town is known as Conflagration, where the flames are so hot they burn blue.
Earth – Earth is deep within the valley of Green Mist, named for the slowly rolling green fog that surrounds the heavily forested country. The central city is called Michael. The inhabitants are dryads, druids, and sylphs, who make their homes in and around the base of huge trees.
Water – Water is perhaps the largest of all the Points, surrounding and protecting all the points like a mother’s womb. The central city is known as Lapis, and it’s inhabitants are mermaids and nymphs.
Wind – Wind is perhaps the only constantly moving Point. It does not exist on the land, but in a huge crystalline city known as Aerial. The creatures that live in the city are known as Aarons, creatures with the ability to fly without wings, and are known as very flippant and idiotic individuals, with few reaching high intelligence.
Light The world of Light has some similarity to the Crystal world of Aerial, except that it is a vast, concave plane of pure crystal. No landscapes, no streams, just crystal. The central city is located within a huge crystal pillar, that reaches up into the sky. The inhabitants of this world are as dark, blind, due to the constant light from a central “Star” within their main city. Known themselves as Starchildren, Light beings consider themselves the highest of all the Star’s inhabitants.
Dark This point in located in the center of the Star. It’s core is Ebon, and no light can breach this place. The inhabitants, Shadows, as a result of no light reaching their eyes, have become blind, and rely on light and touch to make their lives through their world. The only way to reach Ebon is through series of caverns and channels which have been sealed off from the rest of the world.
Death No life has ever touched the swamp island of Death, at least, most of the inhabitants feel so. Creatures known as Wraths and Wight live here, solitary creatures that very rarely encounter each other, leading each to believe they are the last of their kind. In Death, since the creatures are so solitary, there is no central city, unlike the other Points.
Life Life in an odd place, much like the world of Earth, it is a vast evergreen forest, forever trapped in the thrall of winter. Although the pure white of snow is constantly on the ground, the perpetual state of spring still pushes it’s way though the frost. With the central city of Zoe, flowers live upon a blanket of snow, tended by the Ambrosians.
Story – A mysterious bauble in the shape of a pearl broach falls into the northern point of Lapis, and is found by one of it’s inhabitants. Strange things begin to happen to the inhabitants of the Star, and the walls surrounding each point begin to crumble.
Characters – Rael’isa Of water. A mermaid who looses her fins when she comes in contact with the Bauble, and is forced out of her home, banished because of her deformity. Rael’isa is a front-line fighter, most accustomed to fighting with her fins and fists. Built brutal and powerful, she is gruff and blunt, probably the harshest of the main characters. Oldest of the characters, she carries herself at 40, having spent most of her life in the fighting rings of Lapis.
Merdi Blue Of fire. A fire sprite who is very meek, dispite the stereotypical fire sprite. A master of magic, she encounters the bauble and falls from her home, nearly drowning in a tidal wave from the Water Point. Very young and inexperienced, 15, but has fairly powerful destructive magic. Close to being a mute, much of Merdi’s magic is using hand signals, and she communicates using three syllable sentences and sign language.
Uahn’Reyee Of earth. A dyrad dancer of 23 who has powerful healing magic, Uahn’Reyee is very bright and outgoing, although a bit timid when it comes to outsiders. Many of her friends and family had left on missions to contact the other Points, but had become lost or forgotten in the huge mist that covers her homeland. She was part of a caravan that passed through many of the Tree-states of Green Mist, but soon becomes separated from her home when the Bauble encounters her caravan.
Mission Of wind. Mission was one of those flukes of Aarons. Born with a very limited ability to fly, she was ignored and treated as if she was a cripple. She took comfort in books, and learned to use her gliding rather then flying ability to make her way around Aerial. When she was separated from her family in an isolated incident, she took to the streets and became a thief. Highly intelligent, she has good thieving and sneaking skills, and can get the characters to areas that they normally cannot get to. She encounters the Bauble at the age of 25, and is the catalyst that begins the story.
Rest of the story is currently in progress, and hopefully I'll be able to use RPGM2 well enough to actually complete it.
