    PROGRESS

    NISAmerica@NISAmerica (via Twitter):

"Update on RPG Maker MV: The patch for the Nintendo Switch version has been fixed and is available now. If you have already downloaded the DLC, please erase the DLC and install the patch first. You may then re-download the DLC."

    Result:

If you visit Nintendo's Online Store (https://www.nintendo.com/en_CA/games/de ... mv-switch/), you'll see the RPG Maker Starter Set as "Individual DLC". HOWEVER, you cannot download it from the website, Nintendo Switch, or within MV itself.

I've sent them another message via Twitter and we'll see what they say about that, if anything.

It seems questionable that I asked them about this DLC and they denied there way anything coming, but then they announce it days later.

    WTF?!?
That's very weird. NIS America don't seem to know what they plan on doing for the English RPG Maker MV.

Nintendo seems to know more about what to fix with RPG Maker MV than NISA. LOL

Acted trying out RPG Maker MV for an hour, I can say that I'm slightly disappointed. I can tell that you get more assets than in Fes, and you can also do more with the software. I like that there is a character maker, and side-view battling is an option, but I don't like the fact that a lot of the characters don't get battle sprites, and the menu is very clunky and kind of confusing (I understand that they wanted it to look like the PC version but they still could've made it look more streamlined). I was hoping to have a party of samurai and ninja with a nine-tailed fox included while also utilizing a side-view battle system. Also, I wished that some of the monsters, like the werewolf and succubus, received portraits, sprites, and battle sprites. I noticed that the characters and character maker seem very geared towards human and elf characters. There seems to a lack of characters like angels, anthropomorphic animals, dwarves, etc. Though, with the dwarf option, you could just say that the character is a dwarf and make them look like one. From what I can tell, there was only 1 angel and 2 anthropomorphic animals (Anubis/Egyptian jackal, and Hayatemaru/wolf ninja), you can't make any anthropomorphic animals with the character maker (or any animals in general), and the only angel option I noticed was angel wings. The character maker seems small already so this just makes it worse. I still want to get the game if I get my own Switch, and I'm hoping that future DLC and updates hopefully will fix the sprite problems and add more options for other types of characters like the angels, anthropomorphic animals, dwarves, etc. Also, NISA should do some patches as my game froze during the tutorial, causing me to have to exit the game and go back in.

I agree! Character creation is too limited and I've found plenty of bugs. According to NISA, "If you would like to report any bugs or issues, you can do so on the RPG Maker MV channel on our Discord server."

            PROGRESS

            Good:
            • More daily rewards for logging into the Maker Forum (game download section): I got through 1 page of rewards (about 12?) and there was another page. These rewards include graphics and music which become unlocked to be used within a game. Unsure how many pages of rewards there are.
            • I've successfully created 2 complete Maps. During which I'm adding Events.
            • Making use of Common Events to save memory. (Actually, I have no idea what MV's memory limit is.)

            Bad:
            • No Gold amount as Event Page Condition. However, it can be used as a Event Command Condition.

I tried putting a bunch of swearing into a dialogue box and nothing stopped me. I would keep in mind that posting it online, however unlikely, could result in NISA or Nintendo removing it. It's also possible that including swearing might violate the TOS. You may want to look into it before developing your game. That being said, nothing would stop you from saving it, not uploading, then recording and uploading the video to YouTube or something.

Good to know. In Fes the game would straight up stop you from posting dialog if the game detected a swear word, so that's a step in the right direction at least.
