    Castlevania The Movie

That red text is the tag line "Dracula Begins" dow

I love the first Mortal Kombat movie and enjoyed the first Resident Evil even though it really wasn't any good. But even I couldn't stand AVP's unintentionally laughable script and direction. Anderson's a crappy director and he just gets worse. He's no Boll to be sure but still a hack. If his decline in skill continues Castlevania will be dismal at best.

is Paul W.S. Anderson directing this? I don't care enough to investigate further.

Yes. He also wrote the script which according to rumor was the reason for Dimension Films dropping the movie. And given how bad the scripts were for the RE movies and AVP that's a rumor I'm willing to believe.

        Re: Castlevania The Movie

If Anderson is doing this movie, expect some "EXTREME" over the top fight scenes which are totally out of character (ala AvP). Dracula's castle will look like some lame, simple, minimalistic, empty, underground location which is sealed off from the out-side (probably even have a core), with the heros carrying machine guns and have colorful names.

AvP felt like RE. The locations and the characters, all felt the same. Shallow, simple.. it reminded me of DOOM the movie a bit. (sure they weren't made by the same people?)

Mortal Kombat was the only "Paul W.S. Anderson" movie from I enjoyed. Can't say much for Event Horizon either.

              Re: Castlevania The Movie

Aren't they also making an animated Castlevania movie scripted by Warren Ellis?

I seem to recall him saying that was working on one, but I can't see it listed on IMDB.

Anywho, this movie is going to suck. You're probably right that he'll update it to modern day so that you can get gunplay. Probably be one scene where he uses a rope in a whiplike way, maybe.

Plus, who plays Castlevania for the story? I mean, geez.

                  Look.

We can at least count on it being better than Van Helsing.

I like Resident Evil and AVP, even though they weren't good movies. So I might like this movie, aslong as it's nothing like Underworld, Blade, or Van Helsing.

Maybe I just hate most vampire movies.

I liked the DOOM movie. I thought it was pretty awsome.

I find it kind of funny that it says "From the director of Resident Evil and Alien VS Predator." Its almost like they are telling us not to watch it.

According to IMDB, Jonathan Frakes (Riker) is rumoured to be in this movie.

I wonder if, this time, Anderson will as least try to not **** off fans of the namesake he's using to make money.

I don't think we can count on that.
