    Youtube Goldmine

It didnt last too long before, so here's a new one.

So many topics are made about a single video on youtube, so I'm making this topic for all those videos to go in.

    I'll start things off.

    With THIS.

            Not something funny this time.

An awesome AMV for the anime King of Braves: GaoGaiGar.
In my opinion, the greatest giant robot anime there ever was, and will likely ever be.

Mope. I love this music video. I don't like much of the rest of Bloodhound Gangs's stuff though.

                    lol

Is GaoGaiGar REALLY all that? I thought it was just the theme song everyone was crazy about.

Before YouTube went down, I was gonna link to the intro for Super Robot War Alpha 3. GaoGaiGar gets a lot of screen time in it.

GaoGaiGar has the greatest song ever. It sounds like the Merchant Marine's Choir is singing it.

                        Re: Youtube Goldmine

Yes, it is. GaoGaiGar is ****ing awesome.

It starts off as a very basic "monster of the week" show, while dropping little hints of something bigger (and I do mean little. so little you're going to overlook a lot of them until the second time through the series), and then after around 20 episodes or so it kicks into a full-on epic with a very deep and mature storyline.

The series has a lot of comedy in it, like Taiga beating up zombified office workers with a golf club, complete with stereotypical super-moves. And of course, Mic Sounders, the rock-and-roll super robot.

GaoGaiGar is also very un-complicated. it's good against evil, there's two sides only, the bad guys are bad, and the good guys are good and win through the power of courage and willpower, and screaming as loud as you possibly can while smashing **** into light particles with a giant orange hammer. It faithfully follows a lot of anime stereotypes (such as a major character being an absurdly young boy with a mysterious power), but these are overlooked or accepted easily by the uniqueness of it all. Giant combing robots using weapons based on pencils? Every GaoGaiGar weapon being based on a tool (screwdriver, hammer, pliers)? and it's all done in a way that makes these things seem bad-ass.

The series quality stays tip-top all the way through as well. Sunrise was really on the ball this time, and nothing is ever off-model, sizes are kept consistant despite so many robots of different sizes, and the animation detailed and fluid until the very end.

Here's some clips to check out.
