Basically it's a 10 level shooter game. You get to pick 4 ships on the fifth level. Missle (the starter one) Cannon (Deploys automatic cannons) Vector (Can launch a steam of bullets at a time) and Wave (Launches one big bullet).

The last boss originally was super hard, but i toned him down a bit. So he is really easier now.

It's been a pet project for awhile and still needs some tweaks. But other than that it is is an OK game. I made everything except the Game Maker engine.

I don't think you need the program to run it.

You don't need the program, and it's impossible to beat the first level. I tihnk you messed up somewhere because a huge wave of enemies come that you can't kill let alone survive.

Press and hold "Spacebar" and "Z"

Trust me, I tested this 100 times, it's a little hard, but not impossible.

The point is not to kill them all, the point is to kill 1000 of them.

I would give more stratagies on how to win, but I want people to figure it out.

It's alright, it's mostly just a "hold the fire button in" game though. Use less enemies, and make them move around. Make it more of a skill based game. Also the coloured pong paddle leader takes way too long to kill, and at a certain range he can't even hit you. Makes it a really tedious fight.

I agree with Armored there. Most shootem ups are more than a just hold the fire button and hope for the best kind of game, well the better ones. I'm not a big fan of games where you just stay in one spot and hold down the fire button and hope for the best. Pretty good graphics and such though, just work on putting in less enemies and some simple AI, and maybe some kind of hit indication on a boss (blinking, etc.). Also some kind of explination on what each ship does might be helpful to making choices on which one to use, nm missed that in the post.

Re: Spaceship Game, By Red Dragon

I was thinking about using less enemies, but I can't seem to put paths on them. Thus it's kinda hard to make them have better AI.

Oh, for the "Pong Paddle" leader, are you talking about the multicolered boss?

I wanted to be a longer fight because he is way to easy to kill. Simply choose cannon and launch the cannons right beside him. When he runs into them there will be an explosion, causing damage thus you will be safe.

Also I tried making the 7th, 9th, and boss levels (that is about 8 levels) not "hold down and fire" and require manuvering. I am guessing the score is to low? I tried dumbing it down so you wouldn't pull your hair out trying to beat them.

Im still trying to find out more about the software itself. Thanks for the advise.

This needs so much more work. It just makes no sense.

Have less enemies onscreen, so evasion might actually be part of the game.

Despite the fact that the only way to survive is to hold down the fire buttons..... Everything is just too crowded (lv1 and 3.) You have little room to do any movement. I'll be honest, I only got to the third level, but everthing seemed a bit tedious. On the second level, it is nearly impossible to dodge the enemy fire. Once you clear a path in the middle of those enemies it becomes increadibly easy to pick off the rest of the enemies.

My over all impression is that you have some decent ideas, but you still need more practice. Don't take that personally, I'm much worse.

                      PS: I love your projectiles.
