    Reviving a project, maybe.

I'd like to point everyone to this RPGM1 demo:
    http://www.pavilionboards.com/forum/...read.php?t=709

I released this demo, I think not too long before I started work on Jester's Hunt. The ideas for this game started as far back as 2001. I'm wanting to revive the project, though not for RPGM1. RPGM1's memory limitations are way too big. Heck, this demo was missing a few nice features I wanted because of those memory limitations, and I still think it would've been too big. I had to use the sample maps because I was taking up so much memory making custom maps that there wouldn't have been room for all the places in the game. True, there is a trick to span system data across multiple memory cards, but I wanted to make it possible to backtrack to at least most of the previous places in the game, and it would've been a bit of a hassle having to switch back and forth between all those memory cards.

Anyway, now that I have an RPGM without such huge memory limitations (and since I've just gotten myself excited about the game again), I'm wanting to revive the project. For real this time. As in I actually plan to finish it, and not quit before getting far because I got another idea or something unrelated. BUT FIRST, since so many new people have come here since this demo's release (everone else, you can go ahead and say "oh great, not this game again"), I'm wanting a few comments on what's good and what needs improving. I've kinda forgotten most of the original comments.

...Okay so I really just want my ego to be boosted a bit.

I've actually played this demo. Great job for the most part. However, I did quit playing it, I was stuck on this part when I was in some forest. I had to run around this huge track and I had to finish it in a certain "time". You do know which part I'm talking about, right? I just thought that track was too big and you should make a customized dungeon if you can. Otherwise, you did a good job. Please finish creating it.

You were like 10 minutes away from the story starting to get juicy. The track probably was a bit hard to navigate, but all you really had to do was run around the track counterclockwise, and once getting around, go back to where the monster wanting you to race is sitting. Oh wait, I just remembered what the obstacles were. Yeah, that track could've been better had I used a custom map, but had I done that, it would've clashed with the look of the rest of the forest. If I do keep that mini-game in there, I'll be sure to make it better. Especially since I'll be able to actually have the monster race against you instead of faking a time limit.

You've been talking about it since I first met you online like a good 1 year or more ago. You clearly want to do it. I've been thinking of scrapping my prequel and going straight to Paladin as well (we'll see).

I want to do it yes, but I've had the worst of luck getting much done. I've made it past the end of the demo on RPGM1, though only by about 15 minutes. I made it a couple hours furthur on a different tool, but I wasn't putting in any puzzles or minigames back then, aside from the three challenges those monsters give. It's going to take a lot more work than it originally would have, but I think I'll be able to get somewhere this time. Being my biggest planned project ever, I would have to hope so.

I don't know, I might play the demo again.
