This topic is for the Silent Hill GARBAGE ART contest, AKA: MEGAFUN SUMMER SUCKFEST 3000 (now with sticks and rocks)!
The outcome of this contest will depend on the number of people who care to participate. If only two people want to play, it'll be easier for them to win this stuff. If nobody wants to contribute, I can keep it all. Heh.
All of the winners will get a brand new SH movie promo shirt. I purchased these especially for this little event. They are the cool black ones with the logo. Here are some pictures. Four of them are the same size, which is large. There is one extra large.
*PLEASE SEE PRIZE UPDATE IN THE POSTS BELOW*
The first place winner will also get this thing, an official garbage art painting of Mr. Pyramid Head being sexy and mysterious.... or just stupid. I have dubbed it "strike-a-pose PH." This horrible thing is 9 x 12 on canvas board in regular acrylics. I really just wanted to put him in a pose I'd never seen before... I didn't really think about it too much when I started out, so I just messed around until it turned out like this. Sorry.
There is a scan of the painting here and a digi cam pic (at an odd angle) here . The scan is too dark and the photo is too light. *shrugs*
If you think this image sucks (which it kinda does), I will attempt to paint or draw (in inks) another stupid image of whatever character or monster you desire. All I ask is that the request be reasonable. If THAT image sucks I can't help you. Feel free to pelt me with rocks and garbage, I can take it.
If there are more entries:
The second place winner will get a brand new promo shirt and a set of these weird JP SH trading cards. I have no idea if these are legit or not, but they look damn spiffy and have a Konami copyright on the back. I purchased the set from a Japanese seller who didn't have much info on them. This could be a bootleg item, or part of a test run done to pitch a product that never made it. Maybe they were part of a give-away for a particular product, I'm not 100% sure. But I think having a Harry Mason trading card has got to be worth something. His card is a holofoil, which is why it looks wonky in the scan. The scary looking Eddie card is not shown.
Third place winner will get a movie promo t-shirt and some strange "Gregory Horror Show" game figures, just for the sake of randomness.
EDIT- The GHS prize is looking better and better... up for grabs is one of the large Yamato "Catherine" figures (she's the evil nurse), a brand new GHS starter set (this is the board game that goes along with the other miniatures), and a full set of the regular GHS miniature figures (only available in booster packs, which are out of production). The miniatures are a complete set of the regular figures, plus two of the uncommon (rare) figures, Neko Zombie and Musha Dokuro.
If there are more than 4 entries, two random participants that don't "place" will get a movie promo shirt anyway.
There will be no time-frame for my art turnaround. I'll try to have the art junk sent out to the winner within a month or two. I will send this stuff to you for free.
If you are still reading (wow) and would like a free t-shirt and/or this piece of crappy art, all you have to do is submit some crappy art of your own! Something like a simple black and white drawing.... It can be any size. If you want to add color, great, if not, no worries. You can draw a single image, three panel strip, or whatever you like, so long as you can send me the image in a PM.
This is NOT about artistic skill, this is about humor and playing around. It could be the most basic thing in the world, but as long as the humor works, it has a chance to win. I will show you an example of what I'm talking about: Now you have no excuse!
There are a lot of odd WTF moments throughout the series, not to mention bizarre dialogue and funky, un-explained story elements (or plot holes). There's probably something about the series that's bothered you at one time or another, or maybe there is one part that stuck with you for a while. I'm still pondering the can of lightbulbs. Just find something you like and go with it.
Why am I holding some lame contest? Because I like to encourage people to draw, even if they think they don't have any "artistic ability" or whatever. Also, it's fun. At least, it should be.
Another reason that I'm doing this is because I like you guys. Seriously, I never knew there were this many nerdy SH fans on the forum. I love discussing the games with everyone here, even when we have differing opinions. I'm glad that some of these cartoons can make a few people laugh. I've decided that this is about the only useful service I can provide to society. Huzzah!

Eligibility & Rules:
1. You must own and have played at least one silent hill game. In other words, you should already be a fan of the series. This is kinda a given. DERP.
2. You must be able to provide your real name (or initials) and a valid mailing address in order for me to send this to you, especially if you live outside the US.
3. You must submit one piece of original art (send it to me in a PM), either done by hand or drawn with a tablet, MS paint (using your computer mouse), wood and rocks, etc. A ballpoint pen and a piece of notebook paper (or white copy paper) would be fine. It can look nice if you want, but the important thing is that it's funny, or just visually amusing without having any sort of clever wordplay. The deadline will be August 9th. If you think that's not enough time to come up with something stupid, let me know and I might change it.
4. This is a contest for current pavilion members that are also silent hill fans. If I've never seen you around the Bush forum/Pavilion before, I won't accept your entry.
I reserve the right to refuse to send this stuff to anyone. I'm not going to be a jerk or anything, just letting you know should some strange situation arise.

I won't be the only judge of this "contest." I have 3 other people that will help me. One is Dave, and the other two are not pavilion members (but they are silent hill fans).
Anyway, let me know if you want to participate... or if you think this is the worst idea ever. If you want to do this, please don't show your work to anyone else. I'd like to keep them all a secret until the winners are decided.
Next I will post some stupid cartoons.
