Nathan Whitesong, for the most part, is an ordinary 27 year old man. His character is cynical and sarcastic, and he has difficulty placing trust in others. He is dragged into the plotline mostly by being there at the right time, so to speak. Cant really spoil anything. D:
He lives in the deep slums of Hargen, and makes a living by "urban exploring" - I.E. breaking into abandoned places. In addition to doing this simply for fun, he also resells what he finds there on the black market.
Nathan's past is a troubled one. His mother, unable to hold down a job, and thus unable to support her drug addictions, sold Nathan into sexual slavery at a very young age without his father knowing.
In the end, his mother's drug addictions tore the family apart, and, following his mother's unexpected running away, Nathan watched his father commit suicide in the garden behind their house. Nathan never truly got over this, and, having buried his father at the site of the suicide, Nathan resolved never to let go of the house property, never to let his father be forgotten, and never to allow his mother, wherever she went, to have peace.
Nathan has refused many offers on the part of the government to buy his small piece of property. At the time of the game, the garden behind his house is one of the only patches of grass remaining in Hargen.
