    RPGM3 limited edition?

I'm thinking about making a game without little short stubby people on RPGM2 so im thinkin about buying RPGM3 but i was wondering about those limitations everyone was talkin about. Also my game will be based on metal gear solid games, kinda like the minigames poeple make (u kno, throw grenade, distract)
so can it be possible to make it?
    1 What are RPGM3's limitations.
2 Can i make my game with RPGM3?
3 How good do you think my game will be?

Also, the game will be a "full length" RPG with a full story line.

Answere to question 1: Well there are alot of limitations. The one I find to be the worst so far is character limit. You can only have 100 characters and no reusing them. They are for main characters and NPC's. Although they are not used for "shop keepers"
You can also only use a certain weapon for a certain person. Not veryone can use them unless you use the trick, but the trick will not make an archer swing the sword. He just shoots out an arrow.
Also the skill editor is pretty limited. It is still pretty cool. I wouldn't let that stop you from getting it.
    You cannot create special effects.
You cannot import music and pictures.
Tons of other junk. RPG Maker 3 is just pretty limited.

For the answere to question2: Probably not. You could make nothing to do with guns at all. And you couldn't make the robot thing( I can't think of it right now. I don't know why I even beat the second one). You could however make an ancient type with the dragon as the big robot thing.

For your answere to question3: I don't know. It would be a pretty good accomplishment if you could actually make it close to the regular Medal Gear Solid.

I hope someone else didn't already give you these facts. IT took me a little bit to type this up. Sorry if I repeated some stuff someone else said.

Well, I suppose it might be technically possible to toss a grenade. But you'd be limited to stepping on to a spot, asked if you want to throw a grenade (assuming you have any), flashing the screen red, and making they guy your threw the grenade at disappear.

There is absolutely nothing modern in RPGM3. All medieval, save for one of the frog's color scheme, which makes it look like a robot frog.

And assuming this was meant to be a question, RPGM3 is "limited edition" only because you can store RPGM3 (not your games) onto a PS2 HDD to reduce load times a little.

What i want to do is a bigger version of the minigame Metalk gear solid on this faq. Mini game faq

What you do in that is make an event with y/n thing, then make a grenade explosion where you "threw" the grenade. Have guard walk over to "investigate" the explosion, you walk by, then you walk over another event and he returnes to the event. Or you can make him dissapear and make it look like you killed him.

What i wanted to know about the limitations were if you can still have an explosion in special effects that looks likea grenade blowing up.

How can you throw a grenade outside of battle? The only way I can think of is by having a storyteller. Maybe if you can it isn't as limiting as I thought.

I am starting to think they called it limited edtion because it has so many limitations. Nevertheless it is still very easy for those who are not very good with RPG Maker and want to get better at them though.

If you havn't bought it yet I suggest you do if you do not understand RPG Maker 2. It will make you feel good when you actually understand it because it is easy. Then when you start your game you will have to make alot of changes to your first plan. But all together you will still feel good because you made an RPG.

Edit: Oh never mind. I see what you mean. You don't actually throw the grenade. Man am I stupid.

There aren't any real special effects outside the battle system. Only effects are screen shaking, flashing, and "warping" (essentially two versions of the battle encounter warp). You can't tell people to walk over to a spot either.

There are two types of save points. In my games I am using one as a hint. It will start an event that helps you know where to go. That is what I am doing. You could have that signify where you can use the grenade or other weapon and have the event use some of the screen effects to make it look like something happened.
