    MOO!

You may have heard of Bigfoot721 and his offer to provide VFX services. I, predictably, requested a cow. I got it in short order and was very very happy with it. He hit upon the missing element from my design (the pink bits). I had tried but failed to make a Cow I was pleased with and felt was worthy starring in a game. I did a little tweaking to Bigfoots design and have something with which I intend to create a future project.

Here is a picture of The Cow!

And for those who have wondered, and even those who have asked openly, just what I would do with a Cow...

    http://s60.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2...00B1F7AOD8H3N9

It is a temporary link to an mpg video of a quick 2 Moovie showing off the character model. It is mostly a modeling demo, but I did a couple silly things or it would not be worth posting. If the link expires and you want it renewed, just post here!

Now I just have to make all the animations so it can walk, wait, be happy, and even act special. A real challange, but now that the design is here, the rest is just technical editing.

I want to add another spot on the sparce side, but it will have to be a second effect. All 10 elements are accounted for in this one. But I have overlapped VFX for Videogamedrome and can do it here as well.

    Enjoy.

    Peace.

And if you believe two more impossible things this morning, why not round it out with breakfast at Milliways; The Restaurant at the End of The Universe?

And Thanks for the praise, everyone.

I notice Bigfoot has not stopped by this thread to take a bow, so don't forget... I couldn't have done it without Robbotron Studios and the VFX service he offered!

Look for more from this Cow after Videogamedrome is completed. Or before. I enjoy juggling multiple projects simultaneously.

              Peace.

*bow* I am glad you all like my work

I am a big fan of Rodaks work (And I even got an exclusive demo of his Videogamedrome) and am very happy to contribute to his work.

His concepts are beyond imagination and his Videogamedrome intro is an example of that.

Anyways I seriously look forward to where this cow is headed, all I know is that its going to big places. This may even start a collaboration, which would be alot of fun.

                Later;
                BF721

I don't remember there being any 3D objects in the VFX editor that were completely white. If I had known about that, I would've tried creating some VFX characters that didn't have rocky-looking faces. That is, if I created any VFX characters in the first place.

                    Your memory is fine.

While you can change the color of any VFX object (some with better results than others due to built in color variations), there are no white VFX objects in this Cow.

It is a resized sheep with comets, boulders, meteors, and skulls stuck on (and in) it.

Keep playing with it. You can make many more things than are obvious!

                    Peace.

Hey, pretty nice. How well does it animate?

I am incited to step back into the VFX arena.

I wish I knew how to do anything with VFX. I couldn't even figure out how to do a good baseball bat swing motion. I'm hopeless.

The VFX editor works like your own personal team of animators where you are the "Lead animator" and it is the "in between artists."

If you look at some preset stuff you will see lots of orange lines and blue dots.

The blue dots are what you set as "the extremes" and the 'puter fills in the rest in the orange lines.

I'd post a Pseudo Tutorial here, but it would be large and out of place.

If you have specific questions about the VFX editor feel free to ask in the workshop section.

I believe RPGProgrammer has threatened us more than once with a VFX Q&A thingy.

If coordinates are troubling your efforts, here is a link to a VFX editor tip for creating your own coordinate system.

                          http://www.pavilionboards.com/forum/...ead.php?t=1219

If you keep at it the whole VFX Editor thing tends to be confusing for a while, then fall into place all at once and you are there!

                          I hope that helps.

                          Peace.

Well, I think I understand the VFX editor well enough, I just can't get anything to look good. I could do something maybe semi-passable if I put more effort into it but I end up not enjoying to process at all so it's not worth it for me. That's why I like RM3 more, it takes care of so much of the stuff that I don't like to slough through.
