Sony hardware department sucks (important warning)

Slimline PS2 power adapters are being recalled. Didn't know if this affected any of you guys, or if the problem is that bad. Just a heads up.

On the Sony site, you can type in your power plug info and it will tell you if its being recalled. They are only looking for cords that were made in a time frame of only 2 months or so.

Fortunately, I haven't experienced any problems with mine, or anyone's I know for that matter. Might as well check just to be sure.

Probably just not enough resistance on the chord. You'll know by the burning smell when you first turn on the PS2, either that or when you notice that it's melting.

Seriously, I don't know. I've been thinking about getting a slim PS2 eventually (My old one is becoming a little unreliable, but it's still in good shape), but I already have a good power chord, unless if it uses a specialized chord.

Thanks for the heads-up on this. My friend has one of the slim PS2s, never had any problems so far, but I'll get him to check and see if his is affected.

YAY!! I entered all the info and my PS2 is perfectly safe! Now I can continue to experience the endless fun the PS2 has to offer!
