    RPG Maker DS Plus

Siliconera and Famitsu have some information on RPG Maker DS Plus, due out December 15th in Japan. The official page is here.

If you read our feature on RPG Maker DS, you'll see that not a whole lot has changed, engine-wise. However, there's now modern and sci-fi graphics included for much better variety in your creations. The types of downloadable content have increased, too.

Hopefully they'll fix the limitations for DLC the original game suffered from (few save slots, and everything only being available for a limited time), and fix the biggest flaw of the first game, IT NOT BEING RELEASED IN THE US.

RPG Maker DS was a joy to play, with a fun, intuitive creation engine, and the best character editor the series has ever had. It was very unfortunate that english-speaking RPG Maker users were never given the chance to enjoy it. Maybe that'll change this time?

Now only if we could get a new console maker, we'd be all set.

Wow, this gives me something to dream about, Agetec must listen to us.

Would it be possible for a different company to localize it if one were so inclined or is there an exclusive relationship between Enterbrain and Agetec.

            I have no idea.

I'd like agetec to do it, if they could. We have a great relationship with them already.

So this would work on a NA 3DS, then, I'm guessing. Not sure how the first one worked, but would one be able to store assets/game saves on an SD card, or is there some minimal memory on cart for that stuff?

If it's DSi enhanced like the first was, no. DSi enhanced games are region locked in DSi enhanced mode. The only US systems it would work on are the DS and DS Lite.

DLC in the first game had to be saved to one of your game slots on the game card. There was no SD card support.
