If any of you have heard of DoTa, one of the creators set out to make his own game, called League of Legends.

It is free, with stuff you can buy with cash or the in game currency (by finishing matches).

It is probably one of the best free games I have ever played, check it out:

Like most online only games the amount of fun to be had is entirely dependent on your team. I play it occasionally but my roommate sinks in like 8 hours a day on it. He knows the creators and constantly boasts about how hard he kicks their ass whenever they play a ranked match.

This is true, but eventually you end up finding 4 good players that are willing to arrange a team and woop some ass.

It is a great game, and for the price (free-whatever you are willing to spend), it is a great experience.
