    Monster Rancher DS

I can't seem to find the old Monster Rancher DS thread. What happened to it?

Anyway, Tecmo has announced Monster Rancher DS will be released in North America come March.

Again: Eye of Providence will release that same month. Both games are by Cing (Trace Memory, Hotel Dusk).

What fun is Monster Rancher though without being able to insert discs and get monsters? Can they do it with DS cartridges?

Re: Monster Rancher DS & Again, March 2010

The GBA Monster Ranchers generated monsters with words, the DS ones generate them with drawings.

                    Hows the drawing thing work?

You just draw anything and it has some kind of math equation that breaks down the image and selects a monster?

Re: Monster Rancher DS & Again, March 2010

MRDS here is actually in MFDS2 in Japan, so you can draw a picture, several pictures, write words, or say stuff into the mic to regenerate monsters.

I'll just cut to the chase.

I thought the box art looked eerily similar to MFDS.

MFDS2 is a really fun game, so I'm glad it finally made it here.

I hope they improve the fight statistic %s being wrong, and maybe tweak the battle system a bit, since some enemy monsters move in a predictible battle pattern based on their particular moveset.

Plenty of screenshots over at Joystiq, plus art for the NPCs. If you've played any of the games before, you might notice a couple of familiar faces.

Looks like the game takes place in a country called Borgon, and the new assistant's English name is Cleo. She was called Claire in Japan. I think Cleo's pretty appropriate considering the fact that Abyss, one of the new monster breeds, is based on Anubis.

                              Good times ahead.
