How to submit games to the RPG Maker Pavilion - Updated 3/5/2014

1. Select the forum that supports your submission

2. Select "New Thread".

3. For the "Title", put your game's title. ONLY your game's title.

4. In the "Message" field, describe your game's story, features, and any other information you believe is relevant.

5. If your game is a console RPG Maker game or demo, you're able to upload it directly to the site. If it's a PC RPG Maker game or demo, you'll have to upload it elsewhere and link to it here. If uploading a console game, under "Additional Options", there is an option for "Attach Files". Select "manage attachments". If you're submitting a PC RPG Maker game, you can still upload screenshots.

6. Click browse to find the game file on your computer, and click "Upload". all files MUST be zipped. You're able to upload ten attachments to your submission post. The ideal way to use these is to use one attachment for the game console's native format (dex drive or max drive), a second for a PS3 format save file, and the remaining slots for screenshots or other extra material you want to accompany your game.

7. If you need to update your game, simply edit it's submission post at any time. You can check the site's game directory to see how your game will appear in the listings after each edit. Try to make it fit in with the rest. No huge or colorful text, no images posted in the top of the post that appears in the directory, just general things like that.

8. Only one submission thread per game, unless the differences between the versions are drastic enough that it warrants having multiple versions available, such as a director's cut, or an alternate version with different features.

9. If you have a converted file for someone else's game, please post that in the conversions subforum at the bottom of the submission subforum listing.

10. Everything posted in the submission forums appears immediately on the site, so don't make a post without having your game ready to go up with it. These will be deleted on-sight by the staff.

Thank you for supporting the RPG Maker Pavilion!

    Review

Plot: The beginning of the game feels like a fetch quest. You are sent to find a special herb to cure your friend’s sickness. Along the way you find yourself in the middle of some strange happenings, including a house being burnt to the ground. Once you actually reach the herb you overhear some bandits talking. Eventually curiosity gets to the characters and they decide to barge into the bandit’s hideout. Inside you meet up with a girl you had a brief encounter with before. It turns out the bandits are after an artifact of hers, the Amulet of Angels. With the amulet comes “The Beast.” The rest of the game is focused on stopping “The Beast” with a few plot twists thrown in.

Pros: The first thing to note is the very unique world map. He scraped the default maps RPGM1 offers and went with an old school RPG style world map. Very reminiscent of the early Final Fantasy days. The level progression of the characters seemed to be very solid. The same can be said about obtaining new weapons and skills. The amount of skills each character can obtain is impressive. The best part is most of the buff skills are actually helpful. He added a few really cool ways of obtaining skills, but I’ll let you guys/gals find them when you play the game. There are many characters at your disposal, and a nice way of selecting your own team. Using the boat was pretty fun.

Cons: Battles are very difficult until you gain some levels and learn new magic. You can’t take 10 steps without getting into a fight, which is a major turn off. It felt like 80% of my time with this game was in battle. It is lacking in some basic detail that could have added more to the game. Simple things like sound effects and making the treasure chests open before you get the item, or switching events to trigger through button instead of touch. There were a few instances of doppelganger that could have been fixed. I think the biggest problem is the dungeons. Most of them are the pre-made ones RPGM1 offers. There’s really nothing special about them. However, the stuff that was made, towns more specifically were nice. They were made in a really interesting way. The last thing is the story. There was some clichés, but I can forgive that. The problem is that it felt rushed. There were instances were we kind of got some back-story, but nothing felt that important. It seemed as though some of the characters were thrown in just to have more characters. The one thing that actually ****** me off was every time you exit the boat you have to change your whole team. It’s a waste of time.

Overall it was a solid attempt with RPGM1, but nothing outstanding. It's worth a playthrough. 6/10
