George W. dodged those projectiles like they were nothing.

One of the great historical ironies is that during his 2000 campaign he actually ran with a non-interventionalist, anti-nation-building foreign policy that made the Democrats look like the imperialists. Of course, that all changed after 9/11, when he took the dark counsel of his neoconservative advisers who had these Middle East projects on the books.
