So I want to make a long, 3-way choice probability chance chain

So what's the best way to go about making a long chain of 3-way choice probability? 33% for all?

      RM1

I believe that if you set all three choices to 33%, the remaining 1% usually falls on the first choice.

Correct. This is correct because you only choose the percentage for choices 2 and 3. What's left goes to choice 1.

If it's a chain, there shouldn't be too much importance on how you split up the first couple of segments. What are the final probabilities you want to achieve, and how many possible choices?

              This.

Start is off with 33% until you get down to the lowest part of the chain, unless you want a lower probability for one or more branch. Overall, it's really just a matter of deciding of what probabilities you want and setting it accordingly.

And having all the fun of playtesting it afterwards.

i recommend not doing so since it gets extremely confusing after 5 or so divisions. what i did instead was made a set of take overs where each choice takes over a new page which a set of choices. this is a costly way so id do it when it becomes too confusing with one set of chains. long chains of 3 way choices can get costly for memory anyway.

IMO, a chain that goes longer than 5 divisions is just crazy anyway. :P

And yeah, takeovers can work too, but they eat up even more memory, and they also get harder to debug.
