GET TO DAH CHOPPA (Theme Based Bands Topic)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdZYv...eature=related
    Austrian Death Machine

I love it when bands put a silly theme to thier music I find that mostly Metal bands do it best.

Anyone know any other silly theme-based bands?

When I was in college, the band Gorguts became an inside joke, because we thought the name was funny.

As for themed bands, you gotta love The Moog Cookbook, who, at least on their first album, took a bunch of popular rock and alt-rock songs (Tom Petty, Green Day, Lenny Kravitz, Soundgarden and Nirvana I think) and did cover versions using only Moog keyboards, making them sound like...you know...those old records you find in thrift stores like Switched on Bach and Switched on Beethoven.

The Green Day cover was the best, because they incorporated the theme from the TV show Hunter into it as well.

My first thought was The Aquabats, which Crunk Posted. Pretty catchy and nerdy poppy ska stuff. I high-fived almost all of those guys. They're a band of heroes, fighting monsters and stuff with the professor who gave them rocking powers. When I saw them, there was a dance off with an evil chicken monster and a crowd surfing race between a girl on an inflatable pool toy and a boy in a plastic kiddie pool and it was a tie and everyone was happy and ate pudding

          Here's a cute love song.

I'm not really into their music anymore, but I still love them.

The Aquabats almost had their own Power Rangers like TV show. They did a pilot, but nobody picked it up. I would have watched it.

              Part 1

              Part 2
              http://theaquabats.com/video/nextweek.mov

Then the lead singer and a buddy of his started up the show for little kids, Yo Gabba Gabba, where they get all kinds of cool musical guests to come on the show.

Now the most recent thing is another pilot they are pitching out. A cartoon/live action series. The only thing I dont like is the "anime" style it has, but hey kids eat that **** up. Its almost like oldschool Scooby Doo. I like the crazy unicorn that shoots lightning form its horn.

Dragon Force went pretty mainstream around the time they got that song in Guitar Hero. Now everybody and their ****ing dog knows about dragon force.

I was listening to Dragon Force before it was cool the cool thing to listen to.

                    As was I.

I liked it when it was considered "Nerd Music".

                              then I guess we're covered

BURNING FIRES BURNING LIVES ON THE LONG DISTANT ROAD

Well, Horse the Band did a pretty great version of the Ninja Turtles theme. Also, Cutsman.
