    OMG! DDR!

    My mother has a Wii and it makes me somewhat intensely jealous.

    But I just put an order in for her at our local GameCrazy.

    We are getting DDR. I will revel in watching a 52-year old woman play DDR on an unsteady floor.

    Unfortunately, she wants to trade in her Link game because neither of us can get past the Caravan on fire part. Although it will get us 16 bucks off the DDR game, I feel sad letting it slip out of our hands...

    Anyways, I want to sneak video of her and me playing. I think it will be fricken AWESOME.

        It's funny watching some people play DDR.

        I can never get the hang of that game, though.

              I heard the Wii sucks balls and you should get a PS3, because it's totally worth the money and everyone should be excited about MGS4. If they're not they're a bunch of stupid Wii lovers.

              </sarcasm>

              Kirin and I were considering DDR, but only because it'd be fun to play with roommates and friends n'such.

                I think it's awesome that you mom plays video games at all!

                I got my mom to try DDR once. She totally spazzed out on it. She's quite smart, and rather fit, but the eye-foot coordination was just not there.

                I've completely disliked the recent console DDR games. The characters are annoying, the songlists are bad (save for a few scattered gems like Rainbow Flyer, Centerfold, and any version of Absolute not called "cuff-n-stuff it mix"), and the single-player modes--Dance Master Mode and Stellar Master Mode and Hyper Stellar Master Mode and whatever they call that ****--are the most annoying thing ever. You have to figure out what stages the game wants you to beat to move on, and it takes dozens of hours before you can finally play the stuff you're looking forward to. The first SuperNova was actually the nadir, because the hit detection was way off.

                Thankfully I can download game saves with my MaxDrive to get around that, but it's an example of terrible game design and I wouldn't recommend any console DDR after the first Extreme to anyone without such a device.

                Ahem... yeah, sorry for the rant. Just meant to say that I like dancing at the arcade machines a lot better. If you can find DDRMAX or especially DDRMAX2 for the PS2, you can have fun without going through a bunch of bull****. MAX is a little less fully featured, but it's got Ordinary World, Sandstorm, and Rhythm and Police on there. Any mix with those three is an automatic buy in my book!

                  I really wanted to get the Mario DDR.

                  I hear bad things about it though, so I didn't feel like shelling out for the pad and game.
