Platform: RPG Maker 3 (PS2)

Description: Enter the vast world of Chronicles Online, where you can be anyone you want to be, do anything you want to do, and go anywhere you want to go! Invite your friends and team up in parties of up to 4 people to conquer the evil forces that plague the earth! Make a name for yourself and become the strongest player around! Conquer the arena to win fame, respect, and riches!

In Chronicles Online, you are not restricted to a dull and linear path, like most RPGs. You can choose the way YOU want to play. Whether you want to become a PK (Player Killer) that puts terror into the hearts of other players, or a PKK (Player Killer Killer [those who kill PKs]) that puts hope into the hearts of the average noob victim, it's all up to you! You could play to gain money or fame, or to collect every piece of equipment in the game; it's all up to the player!

Gameplay:
-There are 5 Core Towns, where you do all of your shopping, recruit party members, gain popularity, or just hang out
-Each Core Town has an Ether Gate, where you choose a difficulty level for the map (easy, medium, or hard) and then choose a specific map that suits your own player's level
(example: You walk up to the Ether Gate, and choose 'medium'. Next you choose to go to the area '(LVL 12) Edali Forest', and you are transported to that map)
-In each map, you can see Chaos Rifts scattered across the land. These are magical rifts that link the spirit world to this world; so if you touch them, you go into battle. The goal of the map is to either [a] find the treasure chest hidden in the map, or [b] defeat the boss monster in the map.
-Chronicles Online has it's own language! There are many, many names of items, people, and places that won't make sense unless you collect the Books of Rune. Each volume teaches you a few words of the ancient language, so you will begin to understand what all of the spells, towns, and monsters, ect. mean. (example: Velo means light)
-You will occasionally find other players in the map you are playing on! You may just make friends, make a trade, get a clue, or get killed! Be careful and go prepared!
-You will have good benefits if you fight regularly in the arena in each of the Core Towns! This includes gaining levels, rare items, and not to mention fame!
-Virtually no storyline! You won't have to sit through long hours of text...or storytellers!^^; There will be a backstory, but I will create that later

Character creation

As soon as you start a new file for Chronicles Online, you create your character!
You choose these:
Gender
Name
Class
Character model

I will post classes in the next post!

While this screams .hack/sign, this is an interesting idea to attempt on RPGM3. Not too sure how well you can pull it off, but good luck.

This isn't really possible in RPGM3. Players can't name characters.

Um, yes you can...With the 'enter character name' and 'change character name' commands in an event...

And yes, I know It screams dothack, because, between you and me, I am playing .hack//GU right now and it really inspired me. I was originally gana try to make a RPGM3 version of it, but I decided it would be better to not try that..but keep some of the concepts and make my own MMO simulator

CLASSES

All classes are available from level 1. Once you get to a certain level (either 20 or 25) you can get promoted to the next title in your class, which will grant you more power, skills, and fame. The same thing goes for getting the third promotion.

1.Rogue (LVL 1-20)(Sword and Shield)
-Knight (LVL 20-40)(Sword and Shield)
-Crusader (LVL 40-100)(Sword and Shield)

2.Warrior (LVL 1-20)(Greatsword)
-Heavy Blade(LVL 1-20)(Greatsword)
-Titan (LVL 1-20)(Greatsword)

3.White Mage (LVL 1-20)(Staffs; White magic)
-Healer (LVL 20-40)(Staffs; White magic)
-Cleric (LVL 40-100)(Staffs; White magic)

4.Black Mage (LVL 1-25)(Staffs; Black magic)
-Battle Mage (LVL 25-50)(Staffs; Black magic)
-Elemancer (LVL 50-100)(Staffs; Black magic)

5.Spearman (LVL 1-25)(Naginata)
-Polearm (LVL 25-50)(Naginata)

The weird thing is you can change the character's names but there's no way to make the new name show up in dialouge boxes. It's only for the menus and what not.

Yep. It won't be that much of a problem, though, since there isn't any storyline scenes where you are spoken to or something.

Time for an update!

When you start the game, you are in the HUB. This is the main area that you start in every time you load up your file to play. In the HUB, you can :

1.Save your game ( this is the only save point in the entire game. You must teleport here from the towns if you ever want to save)
2.Trade in glowspheres at the G.S. Trader. These drop from monsters, can be won at the arena, or are just found in random chests. You can trade in one at a time to boost one of the base stats +1
3.Open the Chronicles Online main menu. Here at this menu, you can create a new character, login with your current character, or go to the extra features.
YES I said it, you can CREATE AS MANY CHARACTERS as you want!!! This mirrors the experience of creating multiple characters and accounts for a MMO. All you have to do is, everytime you make a new character, just be sure to save it to a slot that's empty! This way, when you load up RPGM3, and go to LOAD, just LOAD whatever character you wana play! I don't think anyone has ever made an option like this in a game before. If I'm wrong, please correct me^^

Due to memory problems, and other things, I have cut the available classes down to just four main classes:
1.Rogue
2.Warrior
3.Mage
4.Archer
I also have cut out the entire option to have a female character. If there is enough memory at the end of the game, I will add it back in, but right now, I need every single ounce of memory available! (because most? of you here are guys! Don't think im bein sexist XD)
They will still have the two class promotions like I mentioned before, but that is optional. Be warned, however, that if you promote your class, you will lose all items and such. But you will be very stronger and level faster. You will also get a new appearance out of battle as well as in battle!
