Monsters in 3

Does anyone know how monsters are going to be created, becuase
I am tired of just adding color, or changing size, what if we want to make
a ifrit, like in number two, Rpg maker 2, there was not a ifrit, so I had to make
a custom battle system with a ifrit.

Re: Monsters in 3

select a model, select a color variation (there are four), and thats it.

Re: Monsters in 3

I guess I should not ask you how many monsters there are, that would ruin the surprise.

Re: Monsters in 3

It's like RPGM1, but looks to lack the ability to make your own monsters as well. I hope it has a lot more variety than RPGM1 and 2 combined, but I have my doubts.

I hope the character models don't have just 4 colors to chose from like in the first RPG Maker.

Re: Monsters in 3

I believe that the character models are the same in that they have 4 color variations.

I hope people stop saying things like this soon, especially since I've already said there are four color variations around six times on this forum.

Re: Monsters in 3

its okay, just... try to not let it happen again. while I will still answer your questions, it can be a bit annoying saying the same thing over and over.

Re: Monsters in 3

There are 49 monster models.
There are more color models for the characters than there are for the monsters. Monsters models generally range from 3 colors for small monsters to 1 color for full screen monsters.

Re: Monsters in 3

Wow. That sucks horribly. Most people will end up using the exact same monster for their final boss, and if it's one color...

Well lame. I still look forward to seeing what the character list contains, and perhaps the monster and building list, but I'll probably be disappointed. Even still, I do have some medieval setting ideas, but they aren't anywhere near as good as my other ideas and I probably might pass them up, depending on whether or not I pick RPGM3 up even.

Knowing you can use character models as monsters though is a big plus.

Re: Monsters in 3

Well, you can just think the monster had multiple casting jobs.

"Oh man, another party that can do 10,000 damage in one turn? When will the carnage end? I don't get paid enough for this!"

Re: Monsters in 3

Yeah, 49 monsters is a rather low amount, even though it doesn't count the 50-80 regular characters that can act as monsters (with a small amount of those being possible monsters). Looking at RPGM2, if you didn't count the human-like "monsters", you'd still have something like 80-90 of them available.

Re: Monsters in 3

It makes me think of the "secret" monsters in 1. You know. The ones that you needed to import onto your memory card. I kind of wish there was a chance of something like that here, but there probably isn't.
