The "I want to be a Community Advisor" topic

Community Advisor is a special staff position that gives you access to a private forum where you can take part in a decision-making process that will influence everything that happens here. It's open to almost anyone who is active with either the RPG Maker software, or the RPG Maker community.

Don't just tell us that you want to be one, tell us why you should be one.

Your record here comes into play. if you've gotten a lot of infractions or have been very disruptive in the past, you aren't going to be allowed to be a part of this unless we see a big change.

Past contributions certainly help, but are not required. We're more concerned about what you will do than what you have done.

This is a serious position. You will be part of the RPG Maker Pavilion staff, and expected to be active in this position. every few months, inactive advisors will be changed back to normal users, and not have the ability to re-apply for the position.

If you are chosen as an advisor, a new forum will appear under the Designer Series forum in the RPG Maker category.

Hmm, what have I contributed? RPGM3 Excel Sheel, streamlining battle systems, lots of information and resources, some other things.

I want to be an advisor because I want to be more then just a member here, Ive been here everyday since I've joined posting and helping people in the RM1 and the RM3(although ALOT more in RM3)

Not sure exactly what I intend to do(since I dont know the full range of opportunities) except input my ideas and opinions on what could be done to improve the quality of those forums(because finding stuff in there is a *****, and Search doesn't really help you, especially if you need help on variables, have you put "variables" in search before)

I've only had one infraction, and that was a week or so after joining(for violating the photo topic rule )

In short I would like to be one because I've contributed a lot here and I would like to help to spark interest back in the RPG Maker series.

    I sound like I'm begging, don't I

    I am kinda

Here I come Pav, like the Kool-Aid man barging into a funeral! Oh yeah!

      This sounds great.

My background is being a noobie helper at the old forums, and I still help out here on the workshop boards frequently. I am still working with rpg maker, have been for 8 years, so I have a good indepth knowledge of the maker and the types of things a rpg maker noobie or vet would want to see/need to have for resources.

I am quite active, perhaps too active, so it would give me a chance to focus my time and energy on something productive. I have plenty of experience with trying to make a forum/site be more friendly to the target user.

I suppose the first order of business would be to make the front page more appealing to new rpg designers, perhaps more featured stuff on rpg maker like the direction the mag has chosen with the featured article of, latest review or game spotlight. A rebuilding of the rpg maker forums to lesson the stickies and make the knowledge that is there easier to read like Hitogoroshi has so graciously started to do would also be beneficial.

Once everyones picked we can get to work and brainstorm and vote on some ideas. This place is in bad need of a make over so lets get moving.

Thank you Ωbright for the sig fix!
Card Three is released! You can find it here!

I've been trying to help people since I got here almost 2 years ago. I've made custom templates, over 100 screenshots for people, and tried to offer constructive help to people in the RM forums. I own all 3 console makers, and most importantly I haven't lost sight of the value of RPG Makers as an empowering creative tool, and specifically the worth of the 4 makers in question here.

Re: The "I want to be a Community Advisor" topic

Well I have contributed multipal reviews for RPGM 3. I have been pretty helpful to new comers even though I'm still pretty new myself. I'd say my behavior hasn't been an issue at all. I also know RPGM 3 very well and am currently in the proccess of making my own game. Overall I guess I'm pretty active in the maker part of the site and vist the site at least once a day. I generally post more in the rpgm general or workshop formes because well I believe that is the most important part of the website.

The main reason I would love to be a community advisor would be to help respark peoples interest in making games and making the site a userfriendly place for aspiring game makers. I deffinetly agree with about making the front page a bit better. I think it would be a cool idea to have it more focused on games that have been released.

I also thought about compilaling some of the stickied help topics into one helpful guide explaining everything right in one spot or haveing the links to the other help topics so we don't have to have so many stickys.

Despite how new I am here I think I have shown that I try to do my part in helping the community overall and I believe this will be a good chance to take things a step further.

You made over 150 screenshots for me alone, remember?

Anyways, for the sake of staying on topic, do we get cool little advisor badges also

I would love to be an adviser, although I have not be horribly active in the last few months, I am finding that I would like to pick up and do more for this community. It has been here for me through just about everything, and I want to be here for it. Although I do not have much in the way of technical know-how with RPGM's, I feel I can contribute to more of the story/plot/development portion of the series, such as helping newer members with their game ideas, and even some base-line technical help, especially with RPGM3. I would like to have some input on the streamlining of the forums as well, maybe even being a welcome-wagon to let the newer members know about the forum, and guide them.

As far as my record is concerned, I know I have had no infractions(unless I missed a memo somewhere). And as the Pavilion Emergency Food Supply, I think I would make a very promising and useful addition to the staff. ^_^

So..I hope I'm qualified, but if I am not, fear not! I will not weep!

                      well...maybe a little.

                          • Qualifications:
                            • I am not very disruptive in my postings.
                            • I have worked on rpg maker projects before.
                            • Won a contest for RPGM (even if it was a garbage contest).
                            • Think of now ways of bettering the website.
                            • Helped JPS improve his resource kit for RPGM3.
                            • I own all 3 console RPG Makers.

I am here. Every day. If I am not involved than that's too bad. I have some ideas to help the website to be better.

I am always nice initially to newcomers. Whether it is giving Simple Man his own Forum, etc.

I have had a total of 1 infraction and that was just trying to understand what Rodaks game was called. Not including TTCs which was a mistake on his part and he revoked it.

                          Please?

I'm a silent type of person but not very well known here. I've been trying to find a way to contribute to the Pav but my options were limited. This Advisor position gives me a chance to contribute. I'll do my best to carry my own weight around here.
