Time to send a message to Enterbrain.

As many people know, currently Enterbrain is not doing anything with the console RPG Maker series, and instead focusing on the japan-only cellphone RPG Maker.

So here is your chance to tell Enterbrain what they should do. They have a pretty good habit of listening to the people here (just look at RPG Maker 2), so we should give it a shot.

Attached to this news post, there is a poll that you can use to show what system you would buy an RPG Maker for. The US market is very important in the video game world now, one only needs to look at Keiji Inafune's recent games that have been made in japan for the US market, on the 360 - which is almost completely ignored in japan. We matter. More importantly, I'm sure it matters to Enterbrain what platform the existing RPG Maker community would best-support an RPG Maker title for.

In addition to voting, I would like you to share ideas. This is not a feature wish-list topic. I want you to give ideas that would show Enterbrain why a particular system and it's abilities would be best-suited for an RPG Maker title. online features, community, storage space, things that are unique to that particular system, ease of game trading, all that stuff. If I see any feature suggestions pop up in this topic, they will be deleted. I don't want to see people saying that towns need to be more versatile, and that there needs to be certain battle systems, music importing, or higher NPC and item limits. THAT DOES NOT GO HERE. Just why you think a system would be good for RPG Maker, or even bad for RPG Maker.

If you are reading this post on the pavilion's front page, you will not see the poll. please click the title to view the topic and poll.

The Xbox 360, absolutely. If I could download RPGM games as easily as I can download Marketplace games, I would do it all the time.

Can I vote for multiple systems, or is it one system per vote?

I'll agree with Kefka. with the strong online community that the 360 has, it'd make sharing games much easier and the game would probably be a lot more successful. plus, it could benefit from some really nice graphics, for once.

PS3 for the same reason as Kefka and Josh. That way if all else fails there is a browser for downloading games.

i voted PS3 mainly because i'd like to play all 3 RPG Makers on the same system. if it were the 360, you could only play RPG Maker 4 games. nintendo wii doesnt seem right, nor do any portable systems. although it would be interesting to see what kind of things could utilized with the wii... my vote is still for PS3!

I voted for the Wii because the Wiimote seems a natural fit for controlling game creation.

Plus it's the only one I own.

Honestly, i'm voting PSP. It has the capacity for large storage of games, so they dont have to limit you to certain sizes for games. But honestly, i'd prefer PS3 or PSP. The 360 userbase will NOT lend well to an RPGMaker game, but the PS3 and PSP userbase, who may already be familiar with the series, would have a much better chance of seeing a more widespread adoption of the series. Having a version on the DS or Wii would be too limiting, but they could do so much more with a PSP or PS3 version. And since the PS3 can connect to the net easily, with a browser or otherwise, it would make it very easy to have an official website, or a way to download the game files directly to the system, the PSP could do the same, in a more limited way.

Also I'd like to see them focus more of including lots of options and variety of prefabed content than graphics. I think working with the Wii would allow them to have impressive looking graphics but remove the temptation/pressure to have to worry about making something that looks next gen.

But then I'd rather see something that produced Chrono Trigger quality sprites than 3d models.

For some reason, i could not edit my post, so i'm just posting again.

I hate to be like this, but i would not suggest an RPG Maker for the 360, as, it would NOT sell in Japan, and they could not afford to make the game for overseas sales alone.

General reason would suppose that the best platforms for an RPG Maker would be the PS3, PSP or Wii, and the Wii would work, ONLY if they could make sure games could be saved to an SD card, and doesnt have to be saved just to the onboard memory, which can be very limited.

Personally, I'm wanting to see one land on the DS. The DS has a lot of potential for RPGM, in my opinion. The stylus alone could be a very useful tool in the creation process. The console also has some nice graphics, while not quite as good as the next gens, would make for some good looking games.
Besides, the other RPGM games give me a "this would be perfect for handheld" vibe. It would be nice to finally have an RPGM come to the US that we can work on and play on the go. Japan had this opportunity, I would like the US to finally have a turn.

As long as its something that allows for easy sharing of games through the console's Internet connection and not having to get some expensive difficult to use device... I think 360 would be best for that.

Well by that logic, Jeroak, wouldn't the most logical platform be the DS?

Oh and being able to rpg make on the john? Just plain awesome idea folks.
