Menu system in VX Ace

Preface: I totally suck with the PC Makers

Question: If I wanted a custom menu screen devoted to skills or a quest log menu how would I do that? Do I need a script? Noobish question, I know.

Re: Menu system in VX Ace

I'm gonna start fiddling with VX Ace in a few days, but based on what I assume about it from knowing XP and VX, yes, you will either need to find a script to accomplish what you want to do, or script it yourself.

Adding the option to get to the custom screen from the main menu screen is a very simple scripting operation that you could do in a few minutes. Actually making the custom screen is hard, and adding in visual flare even harder.

I'm at the stage where I can make a basic, fully functional version of this kind of thing, so I could help you if you wanted to go the "script it yourself" route. That might be useful if you're looking to do something very specific with Skills. However, I know for a fact that there are some good Quest Log scripts out there that you should be able to find.

Re: Menu system in VX Ace

Ah, Okay, thanks. I'll let you know. I'm pretty new to VX Ace so I have NO clue what I'm doing.
