Spirit Saga

Created by Smurf90

Spirit Saga is a story that follows Dreig Wilde, and outsider from the village of Azured, on his quest to put an end to Lord Onikuro's reign of tyranny, and destroy the demon spirits that Onikuro has resurrected to help him. Sent on this quest by a hag named Agatha, he is given a gemstone that has the ability to increase the user's strength incredibly. At first, the journey seems light and easy, finding and defeating the demon spirits as they come, but this does not last! After learning multiple secrets at once, Dreig's motivation changes and soon he is the one being hunted. Can he defeat the demons, rid the world of Onikuro, and discover the true meaning of the gemstones before it's too late?

Re: Spirit Saga

Hello Smurf90.

I started to play your game today. I liked the begining, and wanted to keep playing, But found Ruto Trail to be way to long and cunfusing to continue.

I certainly am not trying to tell you how to make your game, but honestly, it was bit lofty to have such a large, complex maze that early in the game. If the dungeon had some more items or decorations it would defanantly help the player find thier way around.

If you are still listening to what I have to say, let me please also suggest that you flesh out the area with a few more items...Weapons, armor...anything. I could be wrong, but I played for an hour and didnt level up once. No new skills after that much time can get a little boring, especialy since the monsters were almost always exactly the same.

Adding a few skills and some different, interesting opponents can easily spice things up, especialy in longer dungeons like Ruto Trail. Learning skills and leveling up can make the player feel like they are accomplishing something while searching for keys and an Exit.

Please consider re-playtesting your game, I would like to play it again, after an update.

Thank you for your time.

Dark Sentry is a splendid one to behold
Re: Spirit Saga

I don't mind the maze being so complex, but it does cause some horrendous slowdown. I'll get back to this one when I have a nice BIG chunk of free time to get through that maze.

Chronicle Games is made out of valuable stones!
Re: Spirit Saga

okay, well i finally joined the site. thanks for playing as much of the game as you did. sorry about the maze, i guess i got a little carried away...the dungeon after the maze isn't as bad, but it's still icky. the rest after that shouldn't be nearly as complex and long, though.

i know these are old posts, but i figured i'd reply to them anyway. dunno if you've decided to play again or give up. either way, thanks for giving it a shot.

oh, also, you weren't leveling up because the enemies don't give EXP. you level up after every boss fight, and thanks for the compliments on the beginning.
